I'm now playing with my F150. Little mods here and there. Remote start goes in next week. I can not wait!! Reverse lights get here next week as well. Not sure I want to lay in the snow to install them though.
What's to be argued? Just talk to a reputable tuner, he/she will tell you. Mine can show you voltages of stock airbox and CAI airbox. CAI was worse on the 2011+ GT.
Obviously every vehicle is different and YMMV.
Good luck with your mods! I'm looking to put a remote start on my vehicle as well. Probably not until the fall though as our winter has been practically non existent this year.
Over 20 years ago while building homes in the Rockies, our remote start was, get out to the truck and start it, luckily we had installed block heaters, start it, then go back up to the condo and eat breakfast... It's amazing how well the block heaters work. If I ever do get away from SD, I'll install the factory BH it my Passats and one in the F350D...
Yeah, much easier to let the car idle for 15 minutes to defrost the ice off your windows than stand out there scraping. But that's the price one pays when the wife steals the garage. [emoji24]
What? No!! The fan in front is to cool the car down due to it not moving.
Forcing air down a CAI can cause the MAF to have irregular voltages and that will cause the engine to run lean on a Naturally Aspirated car. Forced induction is another beast on it's own. This is for EFI vehicles. My 4BBL carb'd Trans Am loves having air shoved down it's throat. Putting in phenolic spacer and running without air filter is a ton of fun.
