You are running a 4.0.3 ROM with 4.0.4 GApps. You didn't upgrade OS, you upgraded GApps, your phone is correct.

ok...new build flashed...decided to stick with the 4.0.3 GApps for now...too late at night to wipe and restore data. Everything appears to be copacetic so far. Thanks.

Big noob question to clarify some things for me.

I have downloaded winners CM9 mod from my rom manager, and my understanding is that is the proper build to install onto my phone, as it seems to be the same one listed in the first thread here for the (recommended) download.

Once I have that downloaded and installed onto my phone I will now be running winners CM9.

This is where I need some affirmations:

Once I have the newest build downloaded I then have to go back and http://goo-inside.me/roms/winner00/update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-GN-CDMA-KANG-02062012-signed.zipdownload the Gapps to my phone and run that .zip from recovery to get the Gapps installed? Then I can continue to do the same with the blue soft buttons and those other add-ons. If that is all correct, then Im going to start trying out winners rom.

Thanks for any confirmations or help :).

Running 2/5 build. Graphics in apps seems slow. Example words with friends moving letter tiles. Will flash to 2/6 to see if there is a change

This is correct, just flash them all at once. So while in recovery flash winner's build, then gapps, then the blue soft buttons. Then reboot and you're all good. If it's your first time running it, you'll want to wipe everything first. Hope that helps.

lots of gapps closes

FWIW, I flashed the latest 2-6 ROM. Later I wiped data and davlik cache and flashed the .4 Gapps. After the Gapps upgrade I got messages about the Gallery closing at every boot and randomly messages about Gapps closing. I might try all the steps together to see if that helps.

That'll likely fix it. It's always best to do it all at once.

I've had gallery closing occasionally since the 0131 version. Additionally if I touch a picture going through the camera app it closes. ???

Flashed to 2/6 oddness with graphics seemed to go away. Also on 2/5 auto brightness was changing for no reason during changes from one app to another.

What is the proper way to install the new gapps? Hesitant to update since 4.0.3 is good enough. What does one gain in 4.0.4?
