Complete Droid X .sbf Flashing Guide

Yup, that's the prob, type "sudo [the first command you typed in]"

Exclude the brackets "[]"

sudo is the command telling the terminal to run the command following it (in windows lingo) as administrator.

Mader you are awesome!! I'm sorry I bugged you about this for the last 6 hours but I'm glad you were there to help me. It is running as we type now. YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Jesus tapdancing christ. Was gonna slit my own wrists if it took much longer :p

Should be in the clear now. If not, keep asking.

Ps: go brewers

LMAO!! just a few last questions. it's rebooting now. clockwork mod correct?

First thing I need to do is root after update correct to get all the apps back off the sd card?

? You're in clockworkmod? That's weird, but not bad. Yeah, reboot system.

No I was asking if I neded to be in clockwork. It rebooted back to staock like it should and all my aps and themes are already back on there. Just not rooted. Now I'm dl-ing the update then I'm going to root again again then BACKUP correct?

Oh a backup will be made for sure this time...lmao! Not going thru this again, until I have to do my wife's d2. Because I made the same mistake with hers too. but at least I can do it fairly quick now having done it to mine. Again you da man!

ps. Lets go Cubbies! haha

Unfortunately I don't know much about the d2, it more than likely requires a different .sbf file too :(

Id post in the d2 forums and ask what sbf you'll need. Luckily for them I took care of the hard part in teaching you how to do it :p

For the d2 you'll need a different way to get into the bootloader (might be hold power + x, not sure) and the d2 specific sbf.

Good luck! The flashing procedure (sbf_flash) will be exactly the same besides those two caveats

Yeah I will look in the D2 forum for the correct way to enter bootloader and search for the sbf online. Phone is now on .340....rooted...and backing up as I type. Thank you again for everything you have done today. I'm so sorry that I interupted your study time as well. You are a life saver. dancedroid

No problem, I wrecked the test anyway (in a good way)

Dunno if you can tell from my tuts but im actually an english major. Im just technilogically inclined (man of many talents you see)

I thought it was something like that. The tut was very straight forward and well written (i'm just now starting out to be cpu and droid smart...lol). Process done. re-rooted and backing up right now. Then I can go back and morph the things I did before without worry. At least I hope so. With my luck something else will happen (knock knock on wood).
