Complete Droid X .sbf Flashing Guide

Hey Mader will this work for the D2 as well? Remember I couldn't use RSD at all so I went the linux way and got my X back to stock. I need to do the same thing to the wife's D2 now. I checked the D2 help section but did see how to reun this through linux. Any ideas?

the flashing process (using sbf_flash) should be the same; however, you might need a different .sbf image. I'm not sure. Find the correct image and you should be golden.

I am dl that sbf right now. I am just hoping that there aren't any different lines that need to be typed in the terminal for it to work. Hopefully this phone won't take 6 hrs like the last one last weekend...lol.

maderschramm...

Yesterday I ended up installing ubuntu to sbf (gift.zip) my Droid X that was stuck at bootloader (30.01). After about 6 hours of work on the phone I finally go it back up and running. All seemed great until I tried to charge my phone (both usb and AC power) and got an error message stating that my battery is invalid and can not charge. Its the stock battery so I'm not sure what the issue is.

After messing around with the phone trying to get it to charge, my battery is now dead. Totally blows......

Any idea on what I can do to get my phone up and running again and get the phone to recognize the battery. I even tried a second Motorola battery...no luck.

oof. I dunno about that one man. Seems like a pre-existing issue...I don't see how the .sbf could be the cause of that...possibly, but I'm not sure.

As to how to fix it....I'm not sure.

I think your best bet is to call vzw, they won't have a solution, and you'll get a replacement phone under warranty.

You could also try to hack a usb cable to power charge...never done that, it's how people with bricked phones charge batteries. Search for the method, if you can't find it I'll look it up for you I guess.

Thanks..... Yeah, hacking a cable is how I was able to sbf my phone the first time as my battery was not charged enough. Do you think I should sbf the phone again and see if that helps?

Otherwise, I will give Verizon a call in the morning and see if they can send me a new phone.

yeah, def sbf again if you can get the battery charged. the problem might stem in the cable connection itself though, and the bootloader might not mount. that happened to mine and i had to call vzw

i just tried this and got a message saying "failed flashing process. phone (0000): phone did not re-eunerate after RAM downloader was sent"
