While I am an engineer, I don't work there. It does seem about their style though.

Just curious if it's normal for the FCC to release the documents even when the date arrives, or if these gag orders are just in place to prevent potential leaks.

According to this FCC document, the confidentiality still ends on 8/7, but I don't know how FCC filings work. Maybe there is a new filing somewhere to extend the confidentiality. And even if it does end, how will we know where to find the documents? Again, hopefully someone with more knowledge about this subject will chime in.

What matters most is when verizon says. We've learned enough from the bionic that sometimes leaks dont mean ****. I spent the last couple months hearing sites (engadget included) push possible "leaked" release dates.

From my past experience Engadget stating that the Bionic coming out on 9/8 guarantees that it won't come out on 9/8 In fact I wish they could pick 300 more days so that way we can narrow down the release date to the days that they didn't pick :dry:
