EDIT: windows explorer as in, my Mounted SD card on my comp.

EDIT AGAIN: That's just my new signature down there.. I'm not really asking if you've seen my phone.

ADB is something you need to install, it's part of the Android SDK. I'm a little baffled that the how-tos don't explain that more clearly, but I guess they don't.

Android SDK | Android Developers

You might be rushing into this too much, and if you mis-type, you could screw something up. Spend a little time reading the forum and some other sites, especially the how-to walkthroughs.

Just download android terminal emulator from the market and do all of the typing in there. Press the enter button on your phone after each line you type. Bang, problem solved

And yea Se7enLc is right, you're rushing into things. If you take the time to read everything before you start, you end up saving yourself way more time by not having lots of mistakes and having to ask questions and wait for the response.

typed up the mount -o remount,rw etc.... and it said

mount: operation not permitted

help

are you sure you have superuser permission? do you have the ninja icon in your app drawer?

well if you already have it to my knowledge you should be good. When you opened terminal, did it ask you for permissions? and did you click the always check and then press allow? If you've done these things and its still not working, I would try resetting the phone, maybe doing a battery pull, then trying it again in terminal emulator

ok i got to the line mv /system/recovery-from-boot.p /system/recovery-from-boot.old

and it said
failed on /system/recovery-from-boot.p - no such directory.

should i go on with the rest of the steps and ignore?

Well I'm off to the gym now, when I return i'll KEEP TRYING... been trying for days.

We're going to start working on a true recovery image. We'll be posting info on here as stuff comes up.
