ubuntu is linux/unix with a kicking gui that makes it alot easier to use, at least for someone like me who is definitely not command line savvy

In simple terms Ubuntu is open source OS that serves as a good alternative to windows. It is Linux based which has a steep learning curve. Of all the versions of linux out there ubuntu is the closest to full OS as it comes prepackaged with a lot of necessary files needed to get a PC up and running. There are versions out there that are barebone and need lot of tweaking and additions to get fullly operational

On 5.0.7 Koush on IRC today did not confirm that it will be out tommorow. He said that they update the changelog as they work on it....meaning 5.0.7 is a working progress. No ETA as far as I could gather. Working on making it themable.....

Nandroid is included in clockworkmod recovery. You can back up your rom with clockwork recovery thru Rom Manager
