CyanogenMod 6 RC1 released, Let's you have your FroYo in style

How does this not have the Google Maps fix built into it! UD has had this since shortly after the source leak. Sure, I know how to fix it on my own, but seriously, this should have been taken care of already.

Is this the issue where maps instantly closes after startup? Or is it something else?

Maps started for me and appear to work fine.

No, it's the issue where you can't update to the latest version (4.3.0) from the Market.

hmm I just checked the version I have and its 4.3.0. I loaded the google apps bundle at the time I fetched the CM6 release. It would have over-written the old package right?

I loaded the CM6 and google apps via the Rom Manager..
I did not do a wipe from my previous install of SS44.. Could my 4.3.0 been left in place from the previous rom? interesting...

Hmmm, I installed the Google Apps package when I installed CM6 also. Wiped data and cache prior to install as well. I finally got Google Maps to update. After installing CM6 had to boot back into recovery and wipe data and cache before everything started working right. Had to do this twice.

Nice to see Cyanogen getting full on into FroYo.
I had this installed for about 12 hours and then flipped over to JRummy's for the time being.

Too many little quirky bugs for my liking..but it's got potential!

Major props to all the dev's out there trying to make our experience a better one :D

Can you report the quirky bugs to ensure they get addressed?

The only 2 problems I am having since switching to CM6 RC1 is that Fancy widget temperature is stuck on 74 degrees, believe me its not 74 degrees anywhere near here. Also when I put the phone in the multimedia dock it constantly flashed the little notice saying LED's hack was granted super user permissions acrosss the main screen. It does this every 10 or so seconds the whole time its on the dock. Anybody have these issues and know a solution? Other than that this ROM rocks!

just tried it, and for some reason when i tried to set cpu it would only do read only because it said i didnt have superuser permission

Weird issue. Right after booting it shuts off saying the battery is completely dead even though I was just running BB and it showed 90% left. It works if connected to charger but shuts down as soon as you disconnect it.
Any ideas?
I had this issue a long time ago with another cm build. I just never had any luck. I have been a BB fan for a while and have had no issues. I know this doesn't help with YOUR issue....but, I wonder if it is one of those things that are different for each individual droid? EX: like how some people report differing speeds with the same exact setup. I don't know for sure...but i had the same issue. I'm just sayin

good luck.

I was able to fix it by flashing Chevy 1.2ghz lo-power kernel. So it has something to do with kernels.

i have that issue when using p3 kernals

I see what others are talking about, concerning apps being missing in the Market. It will not show me Ringo Pro or CacheMate for root users. These are paid apps I have purchased and there is no reason they shouldn't be showing up. It will show the Free versions of these apps, but not the paid. This is just about enough to make me switch back to Ultimate Droid Froyo eXtreme 3.0.0.

I also dont have paid apps, cachemate pro, full docs, etc...... Can the team check into it please? I really love CM roms and I'm not going to change yet, this is not the final release, waiting patiently!!!

I'm having the same problem in the Car Dock. Haven't tried it in the Multimedia Dock yet. Annoying, but I can live with it for now. I think.

Okay, a couple things I noticed in the thread:

I'm not running this ROM, but want to give the people with questions some answers :-)

As far as some market apps not showing up, those are apps that have not yet been updated for Froyo - which is understandable, but devs should be updating soon. Remember that Froyo has not been released to any Verizon phones yet, so it's system fingerprint is not recognized by the apps that haven't been updated yet. You can run the market "fix", which just reverts the system fingerprint to eclair (2.1). The downside is that you wouldn't see apps that are for 2.2 only. I hope my explanation makes sense - I have seen some better explanations from others, but I don't know where, or I would link to those :-)

For the annoying superuser permission messages, I recommend opening the superuser app (ninja icon), and hitting menu -> preferences -> notification -> select "none"
