[ROM] CyanogenMod 9 [BETA] (DX) (8/19)

Shaggy is right, new battery or borrow someone's. I bought an extra battery and out-of-phone charger for it after the first time I ran my battery dry.

DX CM9

Only thing you can do is charge your battery in somebodies DROIDx or buy a new battery. I had this problem too

Edit: the battery problem. I.haven't flashed this rom or anything.

Probably a stupid question but can this be flashed over GB?

Thanks for the help, but it turned out I was using a bad charger. I plugged it in to another I have and it charged right up. One curious thing it did though was boot up all the way without turning on the screen. I verified it by calling my phone, which rang, slid my finger towards the right were the slide lock should be and answered the call. The only way to get it out of this was to pull the battery and restart.

Another method, if you're very desperate, to charge a battery is to cut a usb cable and fix the red and black wires to the positive and negative terminals (respectively). I ran dry while in bootloader also, this worked great and costs much less than a new battery/charger.

I got myself in to a pickle. Last night I was really busy so I let my phone discharge 100% and it died. This morning I checked the phone on the charger and it was bootlooping all night. I didn't flash any new versions or mess with anything to cause it too bootloop. It won't charge because it's constantly bootlooping. I can't leave it in bootloader to SBF because the battery isn't charged enough and I can't get into recovery. What happened, and what do I do?

I have found that if I charge with a USB connection, I keep running into this problem as well. However, if I use the wall adapter, it charges just fine. I believe it detects the data connection and wants to boot as a result, but can't because the battery is too low, resulting in the problem you describe.

So try it with a wall charger, see if that works.

Even if I charge with a wall charger, it will boot all the way

I would just ask a friend to who has a dx to swap batts . I noticed the same issue when I discharged my batt too. I just swapped my buddy's batt for mine and it booted up. Then had him charge my batt. Hope this works?!

Read the whole thread, it's only 3 pages long.

l;dnr - This is a known issue that a lot of people have been whining about. It has been (unexpectedly) fixed in Gummy 1.0.1 by using the binaries from the .621 moto release.

Dont get me wrong i love this rom. I donated to 13angel. I like the work they do. Thanks I was just asking and had not read about it. Heck this rom cm9 is my daily driver its awesome and I haven't noticed anything to gripe about keep it up u guys that develop this and other rom's

Been using your 4.03.2012 update since you posted it, and I'm loving it. That said, I've noticed a few buds that may help you really take this rom to the next level.
Netflix doesn't work, at all really. It will load the app and the menus work, but the videos don't play. Not a huge issue, but I do like having it on the phone if I can.
YouTube can have issues too. It will load videos, but the streaming process isn't flawless. I get skips and jumps on the video. Audio syncs up just fine.
Zedge doesn't work either. Like Netflix, I can load the app, but it won't load any pictures or sounds. The phones also doesn't recognize the previously downloaded pictures or ringtones.
Finally, some interfaces are extremely slow. I know some of this could be down to the individual apps, but the process of taking a picture is quite long. I know the ICS roms had camera issues, and it is great to have them working, but stock camera won't load at all. I can use Instagram or Camera Zoom FX, but they run very slowly when taking pictures.

Overall though, you're development of this rom totally rocks. Hope all this helps, and keep up the good work.

Use AOKP or Gummy. Its the same thing as CM7, but with more customization and its been updated since April 3. Also, the camera and Bluetooth work.

Netflix and apps such as that don't work because we don't have working hardware acceleration on ICS

AOKP

I'd actually like to stick with CM9. I really like the interface and I think once 13th Angel and the others get all of the settings menus added in, it will be as-good-as, if not better than, CM7.
I did try 7 for a few days. Good rom, but I just didn't love it. It's hard to explain.
