[ROM] CyanogenMod 9 [BETA] (DX) (8/19)

It is a few pages back, but 13th angel commented on why you shouldn't flash a build that is not posted in a thread.

Here is the link:

Yes that's true, unless it's officially posted some place by 13thangel it's up to folks if they want to try it but don't post if you have issues and always make a nandroid backup before trying the new build so it's easy to go back. There's a revised version of the 4/16 build that's out there now so it's obvious things are still getting worked out. Thx to 13thangel for all his hard work trying to perfect this great rom.

Technically, he only warned against stuff that is not posted elsewhere (he didn't limit it to the thread), and I just saw that he tweeted this update. idk if that counts as a release or not. That is probably why there were more people than normal who tried it when it was not updated in the thread.

When I did those builds I just set my build scripts running then went to bed. Said scripts include tweeting link & md5sum. Only reason they were not posted was the reports of wifi/sound settings being broken.

Edit: doing builds that way means I don't test them so I rely on people to report problems, then if after a few hrs there aren't any major problems ill post the builds.

Ok i kinda thought you may do it that way but wasn't sure if you personally ask certain people to test it for you first.

Good to know. Thanks for letting us know!

Running one of Gooses re-worked Apex 2 RC 4, for those of us that got caught by .621. If i want to install CM 9 or gummy, but decide to go back, can I do that or do I need to SBF back to .604? I'm kind of new at this and step by step would be helpful. (Not a kid any more so I have a little uncertainty about these here smart phones):)

Thanks for all the hard work you guys do. Beer money coming on pay day

I am still on .605, so I cannot speak from experience. My understanding from what I have read is that you can flash to any .621 compatible rom (either a recompiled 1st init or any 2nd init) like you normally would. Personally, I would make a nandroid backup of Apex (a great rom, it is what I used for a long time before switching to Liberty 3X) and flash away.

If I decide to switch back, do I just reflash by apex nandroid from CWM back-up?

I am having an issue with the 4/03 build. The text messages don't seem to organize themselves. The most recent text isn't always the one that is shown on the threads page and the conversations are out of order because of this. When I receive multiple messages, since it doesn't specify who they are from, I need to click through all of the conversations looking for a date and time that make sense (which is a real pain).

Also, I have not had any luck with getting MMS messages to download. I have tried some of the APN settings shown on this forum but they all vary slightly, haven't had any luck with them.

Is there going to be a (stock) music player included in any of these builds?

Will 13th Angel update the OP once the 4/16 build is working to his liking?

Also, the weather doesn't really work for me. I need to go into Maps first, before the Weather and News app will be able to find my location. Even if I did it a couple of hours ago I will still need to open Maps before Weather works. Otherwise it just says 'Sorry, weather currently unavailable'. I don't think having the GPS on/off makes a difference for this.

Thanks!
Sorry, I don't know what AIO is kind of new to this. I have J Rummy's Tool Box installed

AIO stands for all in one which is a file that was used to update people from apex on froyo to apex on gingerbread. Wouldn't work for you anyway so that's not an option. Just boot into clockwork recovery and restore your apex nandroid backup if you want to go back, should work fine.

I got myself in to a pickle. Last night I was really busy so I let my phone discharge 100% and it died. This morning I checked the phone on the charger and it was bootlooping all night. I didn't flash any new versions or mess with anything to cause it too bootloop. It won't charge because it's constantly bootlooping. I can't leave it in bootloader to SBF because the battery isn't charged enough and I can't get into recovery. What happened, and what do I do?

Only thing you can do is charge your battery in somebodies DROIDx or buy a new battery. I had this problem too

Edit: the battery problem. I.haven't flashed this rom or anything.

Probably a stupid question but can this be flashed over GB?
