D1-miui-1.1.22.1

Question, Jamez; would it be possible on my end to modify the update.zip before I install it to remove certain things? Because I have a refurbished Droid X arriving in the mail tomorrow, however I love MIUI. And my iPod just broke. And I just love tinkering with Android and ROMing in general, and there is no better phone to do it on then the OG Droid. So I was thinking of making a modified MIUI install with a more media-centric approach, e.g. removing messaging and phone to free up RAM. It would be like having an iPod touch, only it would run Android, have a physical keyboard (with my magnificent GameGripper) and an 2800MAh extended battery. So roughly better in every way (IMO).
What do you think?
Also, I've yet to install it because I'm at work, but perhaps someone can answer this for me: does 1.1.22.0 fix the playlist issue in MIUI music?

I do not think that issue has been fixed yet - I have playlist files on my phone and they are still not being recognized. If I am wrong, someone will correct me.

BTW, excellent idea you have!
 
Damn. Oh well, there are plenty of music apps out there. And while MIUI music is shmexy, Elliot Stocker's Music Mod is damn fast and functional.
But yeah, I thought so! The full story is that my OG Droid and some H2O became to close of friends recently, so the cell radio/proximity sensor don't work so hot anymore. So I bought a family member's upgrade for $20 and got a $100 refurbished Droid X. However, I was so sad to see my OG Droid go, especially since there's no MIUI for the Droid X... but then it dawned on me, "I need a new mp3 player since my iPod Touch 2G died/sucks...iOS gives me hives...my OG Droid's processor and headphone port still works, I have an extended battery and GameGripper for it... OH SH*T I COULD MAKE MYSELF THE BEST PMP EVER!"
So, with the help of y'all and MIUI, that is my objective :)

NOTE: Jamez, if the answer is complex, I can start a separate thread as to not get the OP too off-topic. Just let me know.
 
I'm having one issue. The camcorder keeps locking up around 25 seconds of record time.

I'm yet to find a rom with a stable camera. Either it locks up, or the recording will have freezes in the video, or lags.
 
Err... keyboard lights works if you you turn off auto-backlight. I never actually use that keyboard. Doesn't really matter. I love this ROM with out the backlights.
 
I tried the rm -rf /data/system/theme* command, And rebooted, Yet I still get stuck at 0/10 Preparing theme while trying to apply themes. Any help?

How long are you waiting? I had huge trouble at first trying to get themes to work. Partly because I found out that the refurb. Droid they sent me can't run 1.2 ghz kernels like my old one did I had loads of reboots, etc.

It's takes a little while for the things to flash.
