So for anyone wanting to add this BlackedOut Gmail to DarkSlide - download zip http://www.mediafire.com/?f9wr0zjsfwrwmt8 (credit to ecsnead69 ) Then do as JMTownsend83 stated : using Root Explorer:
-open the BlackedOutGmail.zip...in it you will find a few folders.
-Open the folder "app"...extract Gmail.apk (It should extract to "sdcard/extracted")
-Go into this folder, copy the file Gmail.apk.

Go into system/app and find Gmail.apk
-rename it to Gmail.bak
-now paste the gmail.apk you extracted and copied. Then change the permissions to match the Gmail you just renamed.
Reboot.


Come out of the light & into the DarkSlide !

I installed the inverted Gmail (same dev, same install method) and it's basically the same, except that the read messages appear greyed and new ones black...rather than all of them being black and new ones only different because they're bold...

I found a zip of 2.2.32 so I installed then installed ds 4.1, then 4.2 everything is now perfect. I love this rom no resets yet which bugged me with runic, thanks for the help

Well I would like Gtalk, calendar and we know Gmail works.

Was thinking about FB and Twitter but don't use those too often.

And the zips on the link you provide are done through CLockwork right?

Or can I add them myself in Root Explorer and set permissions?

And, lol, if I do install in Clockwork do I mount before selecting

Have you tried Gemini calendar yet? On that one you can change the color black and gold it looks good and works nice.

Hey thank you. Actually I use Agenda Widget as shown on the far left of

my sig pic which is very customizable. Just when I add new dates on the

standard Calender I would like it to look black

How long until they(the powers that be) give darkside its own section? Just like gummyjar, rubix etc...... there is like 600+posts Amanda over 20,000 views. I know there is a "home" at mdw but this sure feels like a second home to me!

That thread is actually a collection of links to threads dedicated to each item...some are just the apk and some are update.zip...evidently you can install the gmail via clockwork if you mount system...I just did it via root explorer because I didn't feel like going into Clockwork, LOL

Well, i've got a bunch of crap to do today, but as I get time i'll mess with those and see how they turn out...

As for the PM...no apologies, I was getting to it, I just got side-tracked....the best way to get me usually is either PM or Twitter--because the forums don’t always notify me of posts...
