DarkSlide V4 - .340 ROM - Style, Quadrant, Linpack Champ

You used Titanium right?

Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

Yes, I did.
That is why you have the sync stuck on. Try wiping and reinstalling, but allowing Android to restore your apps & contacts etc...or...if you want to use Titanium, make sure it is NOT restoring system data... apps + app data is (evidently) fine...

How long does it take for my device to restore all of my apps and contacts? Would I still have my shortcuts setup or would I have to do all that again?

Ok, I am ready to jump feet first in the deep water...as long as I understand what I am doing...bear with me and correct me if I have any of this "bassackwards"...

1) Download DarSlide v4.1 and copy to the SD card of the DX - Done!

2) Launch Bootstrap Recovery and do a full Nandroid back-up - Done!

3) Boot back into Bootstarp Recovery and do a Data/Cache wipe - Not done yet!

4) After wipe, navigate in Bootstrap to Install from Update .Zip File - select the downloaded DarkSlide file - and install...

5) Wait for install to complete, then wait for Bootstrap to reboot the device, and hopefully all is well?

i think the dev Said to do A factory reset in his instructions on his site, although I'm not sure if there's much Difference.

When installing you also want to pick "install from SD" and pick the darkslide file. You can also do it all in one bunch if you put 4.1 and 4.2 on your sd before using bootstrap and just install them both before rebooting.

I was instructed to go into mount system and mount it. Then back up one screen and do a system factory reset. After that was done I navigated to the darkslide v4.1 zip and installed. Follow instructions on OP @ MDW :)

It seems my text messaging has, once again, stopped. It was working all day and night, as I was texting multiple people about the BCS Championship Game, but right after that it seemed to stop, as I didn't receive any of the text messages one if my friend said they sent...

Any ideas?

Sorry, I didn't notice your post until just now... here you go...

First...make sure your system is either 2.3.32 or 2.3.34. (Settings>about phone will tell you this)
**Make sure these files are on your sdcard--DarkSlide4.1 (blur or not that's your choice) and matching 4.2 update, and DarkSlide Market zip.
Then:
-in Bootstrapper
Bootstrap Recovery
Reboot Recovery
-in Backup and Restore
Backup (better safe than sorry!)
-back to main Recovery
-in Mounts and Storage
Mount system
-back to main Recovery Menu
Wipe data/factory reset
-install zip from sdcard
Choose zip from sdcard
select DarkSlide 4.1
Install
-back to main Recovery Menu
-install zip from sdcard
Choose zip from sdcard
Select 4.2 update
Install
-back to main Recovery Menu
Install zip from sdcard
Choose zip from sdcard
Select Black-Market update
Install
-back to main Recovery Menu
Reboot
Enjoy

I hope this helps!

Keep me updated :p

Also concerning battery life. i did a study between 4.1 and 4.2 both OC and all the same programs, and 4.1 lasted longer. So, i am not sure what would be causing the extra drain.

We'll have to call chkmate on this...he's Battery Man! LOL. The guy did the most extensive Battery Testing i've seen for 4.1....

Disable everything except the backup settings in your Titanium Backup settings/preferences. I think I only have 3 things checked in all of the settings. Nothing "auto" set.

@engineer. I don't OC. Most people know how I feel about it (worthless). I also have found a little, and I say little of a quicker battery drain myself since the update. Can't pinpoint it. There wasn't that much of a change on update. Only good things :)

Gonna test it though. Will let you know.

Switched over from Rubix, everything seemed amazing at first. come across 2 problems, did i do something wrong or are they problems with the rom. Followed all directions, Did 4.1 then 4.2 Update.

1. Camcorder app doesn't record, boots up but closes w/o message shortly after pressing the record button. I thought this could be because i used blurless version of the rom.

2. I can't connect to Pandora to retrieve music. i use this daily, i searched just about this entire thread looking for mention of either of these problems with no luck. Can someone please test out Pandora to see if its my install or the Rom that is causing the problem.

Besides these 2 problems every single thing else with the Rom is perfect? sucks that both of those things i would like to keep for functionality.
