December update.

I am actually shocked that they are actually releasing an update that isn't ICS. But then this also reaffirms my thoughts that ICS will not hit this device in Jan as claimed.

Guess it is time to unfreeze and unroot and await this thing. Not sure I am liking the reports of this update adding more issues, especially the more random reboots.

That's just one guy on Androidforums from what I can see; I've had zero issues thus far. I'm at work so I haven't done too much testing, but I have had nothing negative to report thus far; everything runs smooth and data trade offs are improved. Good job, Moto!

Did you actually get the update pushed to you or did you download the update.zip from XDA?

Here's the instructions from Verizon. Looks like you don't want a low battery when you start it - or need to be making any calls.

EDIT:

Ha! Gotta love this: "If the system update fails to install, you will get an error screen. However, this only means the software did not installproperly. Remove and re-insert the battery and power the device back on."

Ah ok, well I have some waiting to do then. Says mine is up to date, and don't know about that one on XDA.

Mine says it's up to date too, and after the instructions telling me to remove the battery if there's problems, I don't think I'm in a hurry - I can only hope their update code is better planned out and written than their instructions.:D

Do you actually have to unroot? I thought that as long as you didn't remove any stock you could still receive the update.

Sent from my Rooted Razr sliced thin! :)

Yeah as long as you don't have any apps frozen or uninstalled you can update, but the update would kill the root anyway so I just unrooted.

Didn't delete anything and unfroze all apps. But what is ( mot.app.admin) noticed this at the bottom of titanium backup list with a line through it.

Not sure on that one, I would check my TiBu but already unrooted. Don't remember if I saw that on mine or not. The only thing I do have on my phone is a super user icon because I didn't uninstall the updates before running the unroot. But I def don't have Superuser access because root programs don't work anymore. And my SD card is clear of the files as well.
