My first smart phone, I'm amazed. I live in an NCC area tho and have to drive 5 miles East to get full network access :(

Strange because the phone works fine for calls, just no internet. That is my only complaint, the phone itself is great, not sure if I should upgrade to the droid x or not, any suggestions?

Sounds like you are in a dead zone. Try the *228 and update. If that does not work then wifi may be the next option.

If you want to know the latest information on apps, you can go to AppBrain.com. Here's the link for you.

AppBrain - the best Android apps and games on the Android market

Not only it give good information; with registration, you can "sync" your apps from your phone to their website. According to their website, the "sync" will only work with USA. But they are working on extending to more countries.

Hope this helps and hope that my comment is correct.

Hello everyone......I just bought an Android 2 for my business. The Android 2 is an upgrade from my LG Dare. Yikes.....that's an upgrade. I've been a part of the computer world since 1986.

HELLO DROIDS! lol

So I'm not new just yet, but will be once I get my phone in the mail. Here's a quick overview of my story. Today is August 22nd and I ordered my phone like last Monday which was the 16th. I was initially told that I would be getting it by the 25th which is in three days but I keep calling Verizon and I am getting told that the dates are being pushed back. Second time I called I was told that I'd be getting the phone by the 31 which is what the Verizon website said a couple of days ago (even though it wasn't what I was initially told, like I said). Should I expect the phone earlier or should I not keep my hopes up and just suck it up and wait for the phone to get here when it gets here??? Some help guys please! I'm going nuts! I want my phone ASAP? Anyone getting their phones earlier than expected with around the same order and ship date as me???

Hello. I got my Droid X on this past Friday. It's very cool, but I will say I am still seriously considering going back to Blackberry. I am still exploring ways to make this phone do all the organizational things I need it to do, and I've also run into a few bugs with the phone already that may just drive me nuts. I'm really hoping to keep the X though, it's just about the coolest toy I've ever had! :P

Droid Noob

Hello all! Although new to the Droid world, I am fairly tech savvy having spent a good portion of my life as an Data Systems and Electronics Technician for the Navy. I am hoping to learn more about my Droid and how to make it work better.

I use a BlackBerry at my job, but have been unimpressed with the limitations placed upon it. (Thanks for nothing, NMCI!) I have been really pleased with my four-week old Moto Droid, with the exception of the battery life. I'd like to figure out how to fix that part of it.

Looking forward to learning much and contributing where I can at some point.

Greetings

I found you while looking for details on adding my own ringtones and video to my new Droid X. Just need the specs. I like the sight so I signed up.

I plan to use my Droid X in my Social Media Management business. It is great in so many ways. What I am not happy with is the pittifully short battery life. Just like my last Motorolla phone.

The tech at the store said to expect eratic battery times for at least the first week. So, I'll be patient. What else can I do...I mean besides getting the Media Dock, an extra usb cable to carry around, and the car kit/charger so I can power up where ever I go.

I've spent most of my career as a radio Production Manager and Television Master Control Operator. I am also an actor and voice over artist.
