New to Forum

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and rarely join forums. I am 32 years old and will explain my phone a breifly and my cell phone experiences. I have found some useful information and really like my phone i purchased in Sept. 2010. I decided to go with a Droid X upon researching the phone a little. To my surprise I really love everything about this phone accept 2 things:

1. My work email will not work and I have search the entire web. My work email is through Novell Groupwise 7.0 and I hate it. (Not a big deal its never worked with any phone)

2. Battery Life (Its really not that bad not really a complaint

Overall I dont blame the phone for my work email issues I blame the crappy IT guy who never returns emails so i gave up. As i stated before Battery life is not bad for a phone with all these options. This is the first phone I have told everyone about. I usually dont care about phones but I am a droid freak now dancedroid

Before becoming back to Verizon I was a TMOBILE Customer. I did have a my touch droid which was ok. Later I got a GARMIN Fone (yes its spelled with a F for some reason). This could have been an excellent phone but it is no surprise Verizon has always given me the best singnal.

Here is how I rank cell phone companies by my experience.

1. Verizon (Hardly any dropped calls what is there not to like about that)
2. Cingular now ATT (I use to work for during the college years. I did not like some of the behind the scene practices for customers. ATT while has great reception I still experienced dropped calls.
3. Maybe they have change but to many complaints to list
4. TMOBILE not really a bad company just to many drop calls so they had to go.

It is simple no matter were i have gone Verizon does have the best service from my personal experience. I just hope pricing does not change. I am happy with the family 1400 min plan with 10 friends and family and free mobile to mobile. I also got the unlimited internet and text. The bill overall is not to bad.

About myself:

I work fulltime and I am a PhD student. I am terriable at spelling thanks to Microsoft Word spell check :) I play xbox live on my free time and spend time with my family. I am a college football fan as well. I have been messing with computers for a long time now. Also discovered Moto website on making your own droid aps but have not had time to read all about it. see you on the forums.

Get the extended battery. U can still use the original battery cover so accessories still fit! It really makes a difference. I also keep power adaptors everywhere, in the car, bedroom, living room, and carry a usb cable in the glove compartment just in case =)

Yo. Howdy. :~)
Had my MoDro since Nov09.
Forum noob.
Love the phone. I go through a coupla batteries a day, but carry a charged spare, so it's OK. I use it for everything; my laptop would never last that long!
It does run awfully slow since Froyo, but I'm hoping to solve that issue here in the forums.
Ta!

Went from a Blackberry to a Droid X

Just registered and hoping to find some answers on a few questions. So far I like the phone but have found when you put a app widget on your home screen and you don't want it there, how do you get it off. I am sure the answer is somewhere on this forum just don't know where! Learning curve with a new smart phone for the second time.

Welcome -

To remove an app widget or icon from your homescreen just long press it and drag it to the trashcan that appears

Greetings one and all. I've been lookin around here for tips and such for a while and finally got around to making an introduction. I have an OG droid and haven't thought twice about getting a different phone. My goal is to learn as much as possible and convert everyone I know to android and its wonderful and very friendly community.

I am new to this forum. Forgive me if I am breaking the rules. I thought I had introduced myself as zingersworld. I am actually also known as Carole. I purchased a Blackberry Storm in Feb. and was chomping at the bit until the Droid came out. I had difficulty getting my email set up except for the Gmail. I went to three different Verizon stores and got no help whatsoever. Tonight my web server finally was able to give me the necessary settings that I needed to manually input and Yahoo....I can finally get my emails,.:icon_ banana: I only had until 12/6 to return my Droid and I loved everything else about it. Now I am happy.
I'm new to the Droid. Although I'm pretty happy with it I have my complaints, one of which is the fact that in order to remove an application you have to go into it from the Market Place to uninstall. If there's another way to do it, let me know.

hey daviidwilson here is an easier way to remove apps

hit menu from homepage then settings>applications>manage applications. from here u can see and manage all your downloaded and installed apps. also I highly recommend going into the market and downloading ASTRO FILE MANAGER to manage both your files and apps.
