Another New Rooted User
Hello all and thank you for the help I've received so far. Time to make an intro.
Have had the Droid one since it came out, just rooted and that went smoothly. No new ROM yet other than the original files installed with the SPrecovery process.
Trying to install UD 1.0.0 per a friends advice and so far no luck. Stuck in recovery mode with the same error, install aborted with a status 7 error.
So right now I really don't have any experience with rooted phones other than this little issue I'm trying to find an answer for.
Hope to be running with the pack soon.

i recommend the DroidForums.net app (free in the mkt), which makes staying plugged into this forum extremely easy and convenient!!
Jmarie, as for your flashing problem, the first thing is to make sure you wipe data and cache before installing. secondly, are you using SPRecovery or ClockworkMod Recovery?? if it's SPR, make sure that your rom zip is named "update.zip" and not "update.zip.zip". sometimes your PC will not show the file extensions, even tho it's there. having the dup extension will prevent a successful install. also, make sure that your rom zip is on the root of your sdcard, and not in any folder. finally, that error message could indicate a corrupt download of the rom zip. redownload it to your pc, copy to your sdcard, and try to reflash it.
if you still are having problems, visit our Droid Hacks, Hacking Help, and Rescue Squad sections. you're one of many who has had this issue come up, and you should be able to find some alternate solutions by searching the threads. if you still can't get it working, post in one of those sections, and you'll get some help in no time!

Ben here - my first smartphone experience was with the Cingular 8125 and didn't like it much. Went back to a Razor after that for a while. Then to the Iphone which was ok but still hated it. Yesterday we made the move to Verizon after 7 years with Cingular/ AT&T. Wife got the Droid Incredible and I got the Droid X.
So far I am loving it as is she - and NO DROPPED CALLS!!!!
Look forward to using all your knowledge about the phone and to customize it more and more to my liking!

Hey everybody! I am a iPhone user of ever since 3g launch day(with a bb9000 somewhere in between there.) I am ready to give mr jobs the boot, and join the droid revotlution. I'm tired of being locked into apple's "just don't hold it that way" philosophy, and want a phone I can modify however i please(not an iphone basically). I am waiting on the 4.3" HTC device that is supposeldy being released on thanksgiving week. Still waiting...

How i got here is---> Lg Env-->Blackberry Storm-->Droid 1-->Droid x.
I got into android because i loved the idea of having all the apps and then turned to rooting on my Droid. But now I must learn the ways of the Droid X. Glad to be on board.
