adios BB Storm, Hello Droid!

I was once a Faithful Blackberry user, But just recently switched to a Samsung Fascinate. I can't tell you how overjoyed i am to finally have a smartphone that actually seems "smart". I love the fact that i can have several apps on my phone without it crashing. The UI is stellar, and everyday i figure out something new on my phone... The only drawback is I spend even MORE time messing around on it than I did w/ the old BB Storm ( what a piece of work that thing was). Anyway, glad to have mad the switch. I can actually see myself happy with this same phone in 2 years, which is pretty cool.:greendroid:

Hello all.
My name is Rich. My friends call me Dick. I am a firefighter in New Jersey, and work EMS in a large City. I teach recruits how to be firefighters as well.
On my time off you'll find me riding my motorcycle every where!!

Welcome the the forums. Enjoy your stay and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Hi! I had and hated my BB for several years and now, I have a HTC Desire through Telus here in Canada. It is running Android 2.2 and I love love love it. I'm already able to do more with it in weeks than I could ever force my BB to do in years. As with all new technology, though, I am having my initial period of "Oh God, I don't understand!" fear and frustration so I'm happy to have found myself here even though I am neither a Verizon or Motorola customer.
Personally, I chose the Desire over the iPhone because of the geocaching capabilities of the Desire. This way, I don't have to acquire and learn how to use a separate gps unit! ;)

Whats up everyone, went from a Razr 2 to a Droid and love it. Waiting for the "terminator" to come out. I am probably too obsessed with sports and I love to chill and party. Later.

Hello fellow Android users. I am a new member on this forum and also belong to xda & pcgeeks. I am a mechanical engineer by profession.

I have a rooted dinc running Virtuous 2.6, a very stable rom.

I have been fascinated by pda's for years. The first palmtop I had was the HP200LX. I still use it as a calculator and it has a great little equation solver built in. I moved on to many pda's before they finally joined the pda and cell phone, including, the HP Joranada, view Sonic, palm and windows treo and the latest window phone I used was the HTC Touch Pro 2. But windows really disappointed me when they decided to end Windows Mobile as we know it and to not make the new Windows Mobile backward compatible, besides, how can you beat the Android operating system in its directness and simplicity, (that is from a users standpoint).

I'm ready for 2.3 Gingerbread or 3.0, whichever comes first.

Keep Droiding.

Hi everyone! I just got my Droid X this morning :) I'm a graphic/web site designer and an overall computer nerd. Finally broke down and upgraded to the X after craving a Droid since they came out last year on Verizon. Still getting caught up on everything so I've not rooted yet.

Welcome to DroidForums!! Have fun, enjoy your stay, and make sure to check out the Droid X section and sister site.

howdy...James here...new member and new user. First phone of this type, but an avid notebook user...especially for photography...so, everything is new and exciting. I am using the DroidX a lot for internet, GPS, photos, email...finding driving ranges, restaurants, gas stations, diesel fuel...oh yes...sometimes as a phone...football information, mp3 files, online radio, videos of my golf swing, spider solitare, texting a little, temperature maps for all over the country because my wife and I are owner-operators for Fed X Custom Critical and need to know the weather ALL the time...writing poetry (I can use the recorder and leave messages on the front page of poetry or swing tips for golf)...ALARM CLOCK almost every day...did I say mp3 files (I have almost maxed it out with music)...the topography maps...oh yeah, I really like giving it vocal commands, hands free driving with blue tooth headphones...they sound great...the sceduling function I WILL use, but not yet...the ability to use the wi-fi is actually faster on the internet when you are in range of one,....other than that I am thinking I made a mistake getting one.

Really looking foward to the info on this site and what creative ways people are using these babies for...
