I'm a retired tech, geek, electro, etc JUNKIE.

I bought my first PC in 98, and self taught my way to knowing more than 99% of PC "techs" I talk to.

I have loved all communications toys since my first "walkie talkie" kit as a kid. to my first CB radio (you needed a license then), to my current addiction to Ham Radio. I got my Technician ticket last March and my General 6 weeks later. I'm ready to start my studies for Extra and start working DX contacts around the world.

I have been a scanner addict since the days you needed crystals. I just bought my first Digital Trunking scanner last week and I'm figuring it out.

I bought into cell phones so early I had a BAG PHONE.

I have drug my feet on a smart phone, and after seeing my buddies Droid X, it was a matter of getting the funds. Verizon is applying the rebate ins store, so tomorrow I'm heading to get a Droid X.

I really have been reading a lot on the apps, and of course Rooting m phone will probably happen as soon as I get used to the thing.

Excited? You bet I am.

Hi, folks! I just got a Droid 2 Global, an upgrade over my previous Verizon phone, the Samsung Rogue.

Anyway, I have a quick question: Verizon says the Droid 2 Global is a 'global' phone, but I don't see any pre-installed multi-time-zone app on the phone. Could someone please help me out?

Beagz here. I've got a Samsung Fascinate from Verizon - picked it up in October and I'm having a blast with it!

On a good day, I'm a computer programmer. On most days, I'm a computer programmee.

I've been in the computer industry for about 20 years (CRAP!! I'm OLD!) and I deal mostly with databases.

I've gotten a lot of great information from this place, and I'm looking forward to getting even more information!!
