I've been using my DroidX for over a year now. I've not had any problems with it so far. However, I just bought a Scala Rider G4 system which allows me to connect my helmet to my DroidX so I can take/make calls, listen to music and navigation. The problem...I don't have any voice commands! I can't initiate calls by vocally commanding what I want (works for other Bluetooth devices). Also, when I receive a call, I don't the announcement and option to "Answer" or "Ignore". Anyone have any ideas? I've checked all my configuration settings with the G4 and all appears to be set correctly.
I use a Blueant f4 in my helmet, it doesn't give me answer ignore option, but will answer if I say anything while it's ringing, if I'm quiet it will ignore the call. This may be the case with the G4, but I'm not sure. I rarely make outgoing calls on my bike, but I believe I have to hit the multi function button and then say "open voice commands " or "open Vlingo" which is like voice commands but better IMO. Then say "call john smith mobile ". I'll fiddle around with it tonight and see what's the best way to initiate calls. The f4 and G4 should be fairly similar.
