Droid 1/2 Extended Battery

I'm not techy by any means, but I do have the original Droid and really would like better battery life. For those of you with stock Froyo on your Droid...no rooting or anything..How much better has your battery life been with this extended battery?

Thank you!

When using this extended battery for the first time, does anything special need to be done? Should I recalibrate the phone/battery? Or just put it in my Droid 1, start charging, and start using?
I hear people clearing "battery cache" but unsure how you do this.

There is a free app you can download from the Market called Battery Left. Try that - it gives a more accurate read on extended batteries.

I have been running the extended D2 batt on my D1 for a couple months now, never had any issues with it being inaccurate, no need for another batt app unless you just want one. I used batt left previously, but with the extra battery life from the Xbatt i dont really worry about batt life any more.

I seem to recall that there is a VERY lengthy thread (in this forum) on the subject of extended batteries and the accessories you may or may not need to utilize them properly. I guess I'm just an improper person, because I had problems with the D1 version of the extended battery. The Dinc version has worked like a charm since Day One. whether that's due to the different manufacturer (HTC vs Motorola), I don't know, but the extended batteries can be a *major* boon to your phone use, or a PITA.

probably mentioned somewhere in this thread, but I have gotten it to fit in the car dock. Takes a little to push it in but it holds.

Also fits in the amzer multimedia dock. That one is a little more difficult to get in, but it fits and charges.

Sorry for bumping a dead post, but I noticed the D1's battery is the BP6X and this extended battery is the BP7X. This battery has not been changed in the last couple of months, correct?

You don't need an extra battery app, the droid will read the extended battery fine. And you get a significant boost in battery life. Before I had it I had to sometimes choose to not do certain things on my phone to make sure it lasted through the day. Now I do whatever I want, watch videos for extended periods, play games, surf the web, all for long periods of time, and my battery dying has never been a concern. The ONLY time my phone has died with this extended battery in, is when I've used it the whole day, went to sleep with out charging it, then used it the next day, again without charging.

I have a Droid 1 and I want to order this BP7X 1820 mAh battery from the Motorola website but it's unclear if it comes with the battery cover. If it doesn't, do I just order a D2 battery cover? If not, exactly which parts do I need to make this work? I tried the GIFT4U coupon and it still works (60% off!).

BTW, I tried calling Motorola but the guy was clueless, kept trying to route me to another department and it kept coming back to his desk. I hung up.

The regular droid 2 battery door won't help. You need the extended droid 2 battery door.

OEM Motorola Droid 2 A955 Extended battery w/ battery door (OEM#) - Navy Blue Shipped Free.

the part number is SJHN0513a

I have the D2 extended battery in my D1 and it came with the raised door. Still fits in my shell/holster and I can tell a difference even though the phone doesn't read the battery correctly.

DroidForums junkie!!

Where did you get your battery that came with the raised door? The Motorola Store (store.motorola.com) has the 7X battery but doesn't have the door on the site.
