Do you think you can fit your stock battery cover with the extended battery?

no cause the battery is a tad thicker than the stock one....the door came with the battery it was 52.99 out the door......

I picked up the battery today for my Droid 1. Cant really comment on the battery life just yet. I can say that I really like the battery door though. I like the way it feels and really isn't very noticeable.

I tried to force the old battery cover on but it just wont quite fit.

Can someone please post up the Verizon part number and/or SKU for this product?

Thanks!

I tried to force the old battery cover on but it just wont quite fit.

Was bored watching TV and decided to inspect the original droid 1's battery door. Mine has about a centimeter thick rubber/spongy padding in the middle of it presumably to not allow the battery to move around at all. Is it possible to remove this tape / padding and wiggle the extended battery in?

Tried that. thought that might work as well. But no go. But like I say the new battery cover really isnt bad at all.:)

Here are some pictures. For those that might be interested of what it looks like.

This battery should be arriving on Monday. I will post pictures as soon as possible. I was in the Verizon store yesterday and they had them in stock, I just didn't feel like waiting for a sales rep. My only concern is if the Droid 1 will read the battery life correctly.

Well if it doesn't read it correctly I'm sure one of our many developers will introduce a patch to fix the issue, if it is software related.

I don't think that the developers will. I have had the Seidio battery for months and the Droid 1 does not read it correctly. The phone will say that there is not battery life left and when you restart the phone the battery will be 100% full.

Update on Extended battery

Hey everyone

well been running the extended battery for about a day and a half
now and the droid 1 seems to register the correct battery percentage i let the battery and the phone DIE about an hr before it went out it showed less than 5% on my battery meter on the notification bar and this was triple checked with juice plotter , battery widget and in about phone menu all showed discharged at 5% and about 1hr later with moderate usage it died just before the screen went dark the meter show red and 0% battery. (sapphire 1.0 has a moded battery metter) I then fully charged the battery via wall plug to 100% it took about 2hrs to fully charge it from a dead 0%. After that i have been using the hell out of the phone pandora running almost all day. web surfing texting and about 10 30min phone calls through out the day and it has dropped to about 70% and was hovering there it finally dropped to about 40% late last night and stayed there tell about midnight when it dropped to 20% then i crashed and put on charge.

I was getting about 12hrs of usage from the stock battery I was able to get about 20+ from the extended..

AGAIN for all to know I use Ultimate Juice and Juice Plotter
these two apps would stretch my OG batter life to 12 hrs plus
they now stretch the extended to 20+ hrs
I have it set to shut off 3G radio when screen is off and to use Wifi automatically when available (ie known AP or open AP)
also it turns the 3G on while in sleep mode for 15seconds every 15mins to update widgets. I also have the apps setting in UJ to keep 3G on when using Pandora or slacker even if the phone screen is off.
Secondly I also use the conservative governor setting with a kernel that can go to 125mhz on the low end and 1ghz Low voltage on the high

this combo along with the extended battery has turned my once power hungry droid into a conservation monster. with heavy usage both calls and data....

the extended battery is well worth the money
:motdroidvert: + sapphire 1.0 + Ultimate Juice +extended Battery= dancedroid
