Droid 4 Utility ICS Only

I will take a look later on but step 1 should be download the update and step 2 copy to your sdcard. I want this before you even download the tool. If you run the tool and don't have the update on your sd then you are stuck!

The tool keeps failing in fastboot. You said to turn the screen off, how do you turn screen off in fastboot!?
 
What do do if already received OTA

If we already received the ota, then which of the steps in the ICS only process do we have to do? Also wondering about the ability to unroot. Kind of confused about this method as opposed to this one:

Nothing if your on ICS 6.16.217. I think both root methods are the same.

So with your utility I could just select option 8 and be done, or run the batch from the other thread. What about unrooting?

The GB tool has a unroot method. I haven't even thought about a unroot for ICS and don't know if the GB one will work on ICS. If someone has done one for the razr it should work for the D4.

You can download the lite version and run all the options but #9.
 
If you have downloaded the new 2.0 tool (600mb version) and you want to upgrade from .213 to .217 all you have to do is follow steps 2 - 6?

I dont see in the tool folder where update and crc files are that need to be copied over to the SD card, possibly I misread if you download the big boy tool all you have to do is upgrade ICS @ choice 9?

The 217 download is not in the tool. You must download it first here: Dev-Host - D4 6.16.217.zip - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service. Then open it and inside you will find three files. Just copy the update zip to your sdcard. Then after you run menu 9 using the tool, flash the 217 update with stock recovery.

Thank you, I ended up doing just that anyways haha. Sorry for my noob question lol, normally I'm on top of my DROID hacking but I have been on patrol in the gulf for months and I am behind the times on the D4 stuff
