Droid Bionic vs. Galaxy S3

Ok, I can't take it anymore. Will somebody PLEASE explain to me how Moto radios are in any way superior? I have a pretty good argument saying otherwise, and I've tried 'em all, but I'll let you go first...

why don't u just get an extended on the s3? me personally imma get the case with the built in battery... looks better than an extended battery and I think it adds 3200mah which more than doubles the bionic w the extended... over 5000mah ... that's something I definitely need and want lol

Mainly because it only adds an extra 100mah. I'm not a fan of the super batteries in the 4000s+. I am interested in this built in battery case though if it doesn't add TOO much bulk. Do you have a link?

I have never had a data drop! My mom has the photon. Sister has the razor max! We have never had to go to 3g because of data issues. People in my school mostly have a razor or razor max. Saw a few with a bionic. Always on 4g! So ya in my area especially, good data!

Fair enough. Now let's look at Samsung phones. Galaxy series was fantastic, the Note was fantastic, the Nexus was terrible initially, and the Charge was just crap, so that's about 3/5. HTC? Thunderbolt wasn't bad, both incredible were great, the one or evo series doesn't report many issues, the Rezound was by far the best radio I've ever used. So we'll say that's a...what? 7/7? 6/7 to be fair. Now how about Moto over the last 2 years? We have the X2, the Bionic, the Razr, the Droid 4, the photon, and the Razr Maxx. All of those minus the Razr Maxx had a pretty hefty reporting of data drops/connection issues. OBVIOUSLY it doesn't happen to everybody for whatever reason. But I'm no smartphone noob anymore. And I live in a downtown urban area, one of the first to recieve 4g in the nation. I had connection issues that were completely out of my control. It's a damn shame, but it's the bottom line.

So moral of the story, is from 2 years of evidence, Moto phones are in no way "superior" or known for greatness. They're just like every other company where some phones seem to connect and hold better than others and eventually an update will roll around to fix it. Why? Now that I can't tell you. Sure maybe in the old days of the OG and DX Moto was king, but times have changed...

*Also: I know I didn't list every sammy/HTC/Moto phone, those were just the major to appear off the top of my head that I remember had issues initially.

I'm not sure if your statement is for or against mine. I think against so...

*see paragraph two*

I have had 3 Bionics and none of them could hold a signal and I live in a strong 4G area. Sometimes I could barely get a 1x signal for a good part of the day. Motorola has had pretty crappy support for this phone.

I swapped for a Rezound and the only time it dropped signal was when the Verizon network went down. Strong 4G all the time. This phone does tend to run rather warm which concerns me but otherwise it's had solid performance.

Pondering swapping for an S3 but I have read there are some signal issues and I don't ever want to deal with that problem again.

Well no 4g, or 3g where i live. It will say 4g but it is all white. Now where i work it is 4g or so it says. Using droid bionic with ics 4.0.4 .2233

Well I have never had less than 2 bars on 4g

That's great! I'm jealous, cause I loved my Bionic. And I never said Moto radios are crap, just that they are in no way superior and I'm tired of everyone thinking it. Razr Maxx is the only phone they released since 2011 that didn't have data drop issues. Just the facts. Took them 4 phones to figure it out. If anything I'd say HTC has the best track record for radios the past year and a half.
