Droid Eris Receives 2.1 Update Today?

Two people on the internet report it, and yet people have doubts as to whether its true or not?

I'm surprised people are entertaining the possibility of this being remotely true.

Remember when the pic got emailed to an admin of that phone with Android 3.0 in the Firmware Version #? I believe that's exactly what is going on here...

Then its one hell of a rumor. We had a comment left on our site with, another on CNET's site and then these photos.

All have similar stories...sounds like a lot of work to be a big prank.

People spend hours out in fields trying to make it look like an alien craft landed and flattened all the corn stalks. If this is a prank, it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Has the Eris even been rooted yet?

Just called HTC, they are sending system updates for repairs. According to the rep the 2.1 will be sent out ota, but they have not sent them yet. Of course he can not give me a date; but I told him i had an eris and was wondering if they were sending out updates this week and he replied with NO. So nothing else left to discuss here lol.

To add nothing is on the htc site or vzw site, an update of this magnitude would be plastered all over both sites.

So the Eris gets an update..... doesn't mean the update for the Droid is any closer.
