Droid Pro Just Began Restarting On It's Own

I did a hard reset, which was suggested by a mod here, and as I expected it didn't do anything. I got the resets with the stock launcher.

I got the resets with the ADW launcher.

It's not always related to the launcher.

Mods, rs, and all the staff are users too. We try to provide what we felt helped us. Our suggestions may help or at time may not work for you. We research daily and look at many scenarios to try to provide solutions for the users. A lot of times our suggestions work and there will be times they wont. We do not get paid or are tech reps for vzw or moto (actually some of us are). But we work to provide as much info as we can but we rely on the users to help by sharing their experience. This is what makes this place full of info is you the user. I can tell you that the people on this forum provide more info and solutions then vzw or moto ever has and we take pride in that. If what we suggest dont work we have no problem with you saying so and we hope we can work to find a solution that actually works so we can help the next person with that problem.

Maybe you misunderstood, I wasn't blasting the guy or anything.

Uh.

Are you serious?

Do you use a Droid Pro?

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume no.
A factory reset often solves a lot of issue as hookbill recommends. Unfortunately, the restart issue with the Pro doesn't appear to be one of them as witnessed by many Pro owners who have done the factory reset to no avail. That is not to say it won't solve your Pro's issue...the only way to know for sure is to do the factory reset and see. All I'm saying is that it hasn't helped Pro owners who post on this and other forums.

Exactly. That's why I asked if he owned a Droid Pro, since the factory reset has been shown in multiple instances not to work. No reason to have to go through setting everything back up (if it works like I assume it does) for no results.

But you don't know until you try it and that's part of the process of finding out what's wrong. I'm going to assume that you don't have any task killers or anitivirus running, correct?

And for what it's worth if you do it right doing a factory data reset is not that big of a deal. Your contacts are backed up by Google. Your apps will return on their own.

Are you trying to shut the phone down once a day to see if that helps? Turn it off and turn it on?

Well I dont know if this might help but i think that if you are using Launcher Pro...that could be the problem...dont quote me on it..but after I started using ADW instead of launcher pro it hasn't restarted since...give it a try but it could just be me though...oh almost forgot...NO TASK MANAGING APPLICATIONS, delete it if you have it

That's actually the total opposite of me. haha. I've never have a reboot when I was using LP, but since I switched to ADW it started. Lol. Also recently I've changed my launcher to slidescreen and it hasn't rebooted on me yet. Hopefully it wont too.

Funny story about this.

I finally tried the reset. My contacts synced, as you describe Not a single application synced, however. As I suspected, the restarts were just as bad. I even tried using it with no other programs installed (except the email program for work) and it's still really bad. Definitely a phone issue with no other underlying causes.

As for shutting the phone down once a day, I can't imagine what that would help, since it shuts itself down about 6 or 7 times a day :icon_evil:

Point taken.

I never would buy a phone that looks like a Blackberry. See the problems it causes?

Wife is having one shipped to her tuesday for a swap.

She can't hear others on the phone, it restarts and she constantly loses cdma connection and can't send/receive texts.

reboot every 10 mins

Hello dear droid pro users, i bought a droid pro from ebay and just received it yesturday (Live in Kazakhstan, central asia). The phone i received reboots every 5-15 minutes with no particular reason. Here's what i tried to do, non of it helped:
1) Factory reset the phone from the phone settings - did not help
2) Hard reset by holding R and M button and swithching the phone on, then going to a reset and erase cache procedure - did not help
3) Updated the software through internet connecting the phone - did not help
3) Swithing between global mode/GSM/CDMA modes - did not help
4) Unmountind SD card and working without SD (maybe SD card was bricked) - did not help
5) Unmounted SIM card and used without network (thought it was conection issue) - did not help
6) Tacked off the battery for 1 hour :-) - did not help
7) Did all procedures step by step done in followind post Phone finally working great! - xda-developers - did not help

Does anyone know how to solve this problem, or i should just thow the phone away

Thanks in advance

Well don't throw it away. The warranty may still be good on it even though you're not the original owner. Call Verizon and ask them to send you out another.

Agreed. It is most definitely within warranty (just came out in November).

Only thing is, I don't know if they will ship to another country, you will have to call and ask.

You should have some kind of coverage from ebay. Unless they told you that it was doing that.

Thanks for your replys. You see, it's not that easy, i bought it for 260USD and the shipment was 50 USD. And the seller will refund me the phone price and i have to send it back, which is again 50 USD. Totaly i will loose 100 USD, and i'm wondering maybe there's a way to solve this by flashing or installing another ROM.

There's only one ROM available and it isn't for everyday use and as far as I'm concerned if you SBF'd it, its a hardware issue.
