Buy an HTC and sell your D2! I did because of the reasons you mentioned and I also really prefer the sense interface to blur. And if you don't like sense, they have CM7.

Honestly forget about omaps and snapdragons and all that. The omap has a better gpu than the snapdragon but unless you're doing a lot of gaming its not too important.

I would go with the D2G as vz phased out the d2 and it'll have more support.
