Droid Razr Maxx HD waiting lounge.

Cheap kind of sums-up Samsung and HTC when it comes to build quality and when are these manufacturers going to get a clue on battery life and RAM?

Well I got the GS3 today. I don't like it.

To sum it up...

The rear speaker makes the whole phone rattle/vibrate when playing music.
The rear speaker volume at MAX is WAY too low.
The TouchWiz takes up WITH NOTHING INSTALLED/STOCK 425 MBs of RAM. (for comparison my Bionic with 306 apps installed only takes up 625 MBs of RAM, Hmm).
The phone FEELS cheap.
Hate the physical home button.
Hate the unlock screen.
Camera quality while good still doesn't produce any better images I can do with my Bionic and after photo editing.
GS3 has NO onboard photo editing software.
(Obvious) Battery is too small in mAh.

So to sum it up. I'll be getting the Razr Maxx HD tomorrow when I return this GS3 for exchange.
I already called my "local" store and had one reserved! :)

Did u even mess with this phone before u bought it??? Lol and bud Idk what ur smoking but I'm using my Bionic right now to type u this and I hate to say it but the GS3s camera blows the Bionics out of the water.

xmguy the razr hd or razr maxx hd may be the phone for you. For me I am still bugging the vzw and at&t reps about when they will be getting the note 2.

Yes cheap is what MOST phones seem to be. If I pay over $200 for a phone I want the build quality to last the duration of the contract.
I've noticed that the new HTC phone will have an even SMALLER mAh battery than the GS3. I wish the Razr Maxx HD had a camera like the GS3 and the RAM. But I still feel the higher RAM in the GS3 is because of TouchWiz.

Note 2 has biggest battery in a phone ever(stock I guess). Yah it had to power the huge screen but all reports of the battery life have been good. Probably gonna be a little worse with LTE though.

I meant the Razr Maxx. :) I have both. Yeah the Bionic is crap compared to the Razr line. I did try it out. But can't do rigid testing in a store. Honestly if I held on to the phone for 13 of the 14 days I'd probably keep it. But I love the design and battery on the Maxx HD. So it wins me over.

I've been waiting for the RAZR HD MAXX to make my final decision on my upgrade, versus Samsung GS3.

Based on everything I have read I am leaning very heavily towards the RAZR.

However, I do plan on rooting my phone and wondering how long it might be before I can do that. I don't have any real desire to run a different ROM or do any major hacking, but I insist on being able to do proper backups of my phone and to enable WiFi Tethering without being ripped off by Verizon.

Anybody have any guess as to when the RAZR HD will be rootable?

Razr M, HD and Maxx HD have ALREADY been ROOTED. :)

I tell you this. If the Razr Maxx HD had the same camera as the GS3 it would be a killer!

Root was accomplished yesterday I believe. DROID RAZR HD, RAZR M, and Atrix HD All Rooted – Droid Life From what I understand, you can have root without having bootloader unlocked but will not have ability to change or modify kernel. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I am taking back the GS3 I picked up on Sept. 29th. I had a Verizon rep allow me to extend the 14 days till tomorrow so that I could get the MAXX HD. I'm more excited today than I have been in recent days with all the unboxing and reviews being so positive. Also, I'm pretty stoked about the "possibility" of the 4.1 Jelly Bean update being available tomorrow. This is speculation as EVERYONE has been mum about this. We'll see tomorrow.

Great news! So I won't have to live a day without Nandroid and Titanium Backup, and free WiFi tethering.

Would be great if Jellybean was available soon so I could wait for the OTA update before rooting.

As of now I don't see myself wanting to run a different kernel, as it seems Blur is pretty close to the stock 4.0.4 without too much bloat.

Just called my "local" store and they have the RAZR Maxx HD ready for sale tomorrow. :D!
