Droid Razr Maxx HD waiting lounge.

Root was accomplished yesterday I believe. DROID RAZR HD, RAZR M, and Atrix HD All Rooted – Droid Life From what I understand, you can have root without having bootloader unlocked but will not have ability to change or modify kernel. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I am taking back the GS3 I picked up on Sept. 29th. I had a Verizon rep allow me to extend the 14 days till tomorrow so that I could get the MAXX HD. I'm more excited today than I have been in recent days with all the unboxing and reviews being so positive. Also, I'm pretty stoked about the "possibility" of the 4.1 Jelly Bean update being available tomorrow. This is speculation as EVERYONE has been mum about this. We'll see tomorrow.

Other than the obvious battery and plastic build. What is making you return the GS3 for the Maxx HD?

Well, you pretty much said it. The build is the biggest thing. I had a Droid X and noticed how much better it was than my iphone and other android phones I have used. The GS3 feels extremely cheap as noted by others. Also, the fact that Motorola is "backed" by Google now is a big thing for me. The wrongs that Motorola did in the PAST don't bother me moving forward either. Also, as you pointed out, the battery is the best, period. I get very acceptable battery life on the GS3, but with somewhat minimal use which for some reason makes me use the device less throughout the day. With the Razr HD or MAXX I feel that I won't feel obligated to NOT use the phone for certain tasks. Also, I'm very excited for the "close to stock" android experience and Smart Actions. The biggest for me is build quality. I have 2 young kids that like to play games on my phone and the kevlar and other modifications give me a little more piece of mind if accidents were to occur. One last note, the radios/antennae seem to be very week in the GS3, maybe it's just for me. The wireless is alot weaker as well as the 4G signal than other phones I've seen in my office.

I think im gonna go ahead and get the maxx. I don't like the slick plastic near as much as kevlar

I'm right there with you... damn you Motorola, why why must you play games with my heart so. I want the note 2 really bad, but this is beautiful, the feel of Motorola vs Samsung just can't be beat. hopefully i can hold out, but God this will be hard.

If it was a normal sized phone I would just throw a nice textured case on there but with a case it will just be too much to hide in a pocket unnoticed. With me still going to school I have to keep my phone in my pocket most of the day

I don't understand. I mean yeah it looks sweet, probably at least go look at it but besides having a slightly bigger screen, slightly faster processor, slight better build quality... how is it that much better then the current razr line???? Especially when u compare it to the Note 2
