I talked verizon into letting me roam with one and the DB's were identical. And this is in reception black hole. I still believe in the conspiracy theory.

It does have a compass. I worried about the same thing because it isn't listed in the specs, but it in fact does. Screen shot below shows the Magnetic field sensor which is the compass...

The HD also supports S GPS. Which means if you have a maps app that doesn't require network signal you can still track your route. S GPS doesn't require any cellular or wifi assistance to know where the sats are. The Bionic had this then it was removed in the RAZR line now added back.

Hey, Tis, you don't need a compass to tell which way is north, (once you established north the other directions fall into place), you just have to know the time of day and if you need visual confirmation an analog watch will suffice provided of course you can read a "real watch" . Tis giving you grief lol.

I agree, the time of day versus direction is useless unless you live in the areas that accept that hooey. A compass is a godsend if you can read a compass and a map.

The Razr Maxx, Razr and Razr M also all have SGPS. It is very nice not to need both data and GPS to navigate.

Oh gee, no wonder why I'm always lost, lol! Actually, the only reason I posted about the compass is because someone asked if the M did because it is not listed in the specs. Really, it wasn't random.

I assume you have unlimited? I wonder if this will actually work or not. If that worked...I would be buying from wirefly . But I have a feeling Verizon will not accept that.
Yes, I have unlimited data. My order has now shipped. It still specifically says that my plan will not change (there were other options of different data plans in a list with different prices. I choose the $0 do not change my plan option. It sounds like others are also able to switch back to their unlimited plan if they call Verizon within two weeks of getting their new phone.

After you activate the phone you should be able to see your account online and determine whether or not Verizon changed the plan. please keep us posted. Thanks.

So, Hotice, did Verizon let you keep your existing plan? I looked on wirefly, but the faq's had the small print, "Wirefly sells the exact same plans as you’ll find in the carrier retail stores, so you can keep your existing plan if it is still available to order." That last part looks like Verizon might pull one on you. Let us know, when you can. That's the only thing keeping me from getting a razr HD MAXX, right now.
So far it seems like it. I've gotten confirmation emails from wirefly first that my order was processed and second that it shipped. Both specifically say my data plan will not change. I initially tried to order through them by phone and the person on the phone told me I couldn't keep my plan and I was going to take the $30/2GB plan. The phone order process was taking forever and there was a work emergency I had to deal with so I actually cut the call short. After that I decided to try ordering on their web site. One of the pages gave the the option to select my data plan. One of the options was keep my existing plan and it let me select that option. I'll have to post once I have the thing activated and can confirm on my Verizon account that I still have the unlimited plan.

So I was at Verizon again today and couldn't figure out how to get to the smiley faces on the keyboard. Does the HD have them?
