[APPS] Droid X/2 Overclock App - Easy & Noob friendly ;)

noticed that the overclock app was slowing down the CPU even though i hadn't set the governor to do so. I've ended up uninstalling SetCPU because Droid X/2 overclock was slowing down the CPU and SetCPU was resetting to 400mhz max.

It'd be nice if you could either have droid overclock play nice with SetCPU so i can just set it and forget it......or include some of SetCPU's features in your app eg. profiles, stress test.

I can't overclock anything over 1.1? Whats up with that? ULV, LV, M, H, it doesn't matter. But as SOON as I click on 1.15, 1.2, on up, the phone freezes. Not totally though, just super super super slow. I can manage to get back to stock eventually, but it might take 5 mins. The phone still runs super slow after that too. Until I can exit the program, kill the task, and clear the cache. Then it is back up and running normal again. Then I just go back and and try again! Nothing is working. I am running ULV at 1.1 and it has been holding steady for the last 12 hours but everything else either sent it into super slow mo, or rebooted within a few mins. Any ideas? Is it just my processor that is the culprit? Or did I miss something?

As explained before by many, each phone will act differently. Some of the release day phones will not go past 1.1 or 1.2. I have one of them and have the same issue. Also, I have a newer X and can run 1.3 farely well. You are correct.... the processor is the culprit... not what you are doing.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one. Maybe in the next update Jrummy will have fixed this problem.

Hi everyone,

First off this app is really well done. I find it definitely worth the money.

Now to the questions. First off can anyone explain what the governor options mean ? Secondly, I have one of the first Droid X's shipped. No matter what I set it to overclock the device gets really warm. I've even tried 1.1 gig on ultra low frequency. What is a dangerous temperature to operate at ? I've seen it go as high as 130 degrees lol I turned it off right quick.

It never locks up or reboots and I've never had a problem running the software. And I do know that every chip is different. Of course I get a chip that loves to heat up. lol

Ditto, either the displayed voltage is wrong or the voltage settings aren't taking. Im inclined to think the former. I've been waiting for a voltage readout though, this app continues to blow my mind.

Its weird the settings on mine are definitely taking. As I said in my post my device heats up quick even with undervolting.

Can anyone answer my question though from the other post ?!?!!?

Thats disconcerting. I've never seen my phone above 100F. If it was sitting in my dash doing nav i'm sure it would though. Our batteries state a max operating temp of 140F...so i guess technically you're ok. Thats odd though. I'm sure Jrummy will have the voltage fixed today.

edit2: ah...the popout is worse now. all slots read 100mhz.

There have been versions of the software that worked great but each update seems to mess something new up. JRummy keeps adding value to his app and I have confidence he will get all the bugs worked out. Great job JRummy!
