[APPS] Droid X/2 Overclock App - Easy & Noob friendly ;)

Anyone have any insight on whether or not the app is going to get updated to work with the new GB leak for DX?

No recovery from profile setting?

So I installed this app today. Really sweet EXCEPT... ( Bet ya knew that was coming, hu? ). My X doesn't seem to ramp the speed back up when coming out of the "Screen Off" profile.

I'm running the ulv 1.2 setting. I have only one profile set up and that is the screen off set to go down to 800mhz. The speed goes down when the screen goes off. ( When I unlock, my widget shows the 800mhz speed ). But I never seem to jack back up to 1.2ghz. I have to actually open the app and move the slider back up.

It DOES stick at 1.2 if I remove the profile but it seems like a waste if I can't use the profiles. Any suggestions folks? ( Maybe JRummy is reading this and can help? )

It will go up to whatever you set it as when it needs it, if your just sitting at home screen its going to go as low as allowed to save the battery, hence the reason for the app in first place, help any? I'm fresh and new to this on week two but that's my best answer..

You need to set up another profile, otherwise it will always sit at the one. For instance before I figured that out mine would always stay at 400/400 (my screen off settings) while fully charged because my profiles left a gap above 80% battery while unplugged.

Ah ha!!!! I'm an idiot!! Never even saw the "Screen on" profile option. Thanks for the help.

I'm personally wondering about voltages. I use quickclock, which btw allows you to set a much lower voltage frequency on your phone, to get low voltages. Then I import the settings to droid overclock and make profiles and such. My question is, in advanced settings when you're setting voltages for each scaling point, what does that number mean exactly? I'm thinking it's the minimum voltage to run that the cpu frequency, correct? And if so, is there a way to set a max voltage for each individual frequency? I'm very interested in undervolting to save battery. I have a Droid 2 Global.

And I also find it strange that it only gives me the option to set four scaling points, when I apparently have five. Probably a Droid 2 Global thing. Wish it could be fixed..

As i understand its not a minimum so much as the voltage it will run at.

Yes, the d2g has 5 slots but the d2/dx only has 4 therefore our lowest setting in Jrummy's app will be the stock 300 mhz setting unless you personally change it. With quickclock i lost the highest end setting with that. I know for a fact mine will run at over 1.35 ghz but the highest using quick clock is 1.1 something because it lost the 5th slot.

Alright. One more question, with the D2G and all having poor battery life, do you notice much difference in battery life when you overclock it? I've just been undervolting stock frequencies mostly to about 65 VSEL max, and I've been running at 1300 for a while now at 74 VSEL max pretty well. But I haven't paid too much attention to my battery recently to notice if there was much of a change.

Edit: Oh and also just to talk about quickclock a bit more, it lets me set my VSEL to 19 for 300 mhz, while jrummy's app suggests about 33 or something. I think it saved a lot of battery for me. Not to diss jrummy's app, it's great and I use it instead of quickclock, but calibrating with quickclock first and the exporting the settings to Droid Overclock is pretty useful.

I havent really noticed a difference... I have mine running on 1.3 ghz ULV since i started OC'ing mine. I get ~14 hrs out of it but not sure what of that can be attributed to the ULV compared to running Liberty.

Hmm.. 14 hours? Without being overclocked (just undervolting in advanced settings of Droid Overclock) using a screen off profile (300/724) and juicedefender with custom settings, my battery was at 66% after 13 hours. My screen was on for about 2 hours total in that time, I don't remember if I had autobright on the whole time or not

I use mine alot..... One day i was sitting at 16 hours with ~60% battery left so i know i could get more with less use. Im constantly checking email, twitter, and here though lol.

In Advanced/Custom options, can anybody change the name of the preset? I tried but it seems like that it only allows numeric characters.
