Droid X camera is disapointing (pictures inside)

by the way theres a few super long threads here comparing the iphone 4 and the x's cameras. iphone wins by a landslide everytime. indoors, outdoors, low light, bright light. doesnt matter

I used an iphone 4 at the mall and u cant tell just by how it takes pictures that its better. It has no shutter lag and the pics come out more focused than the droid x taking like 3 seconds to focus. Iphone is deffenetly better than the droid x camera wise. Wish the droid had the iphone camera
yeah, typical motorola. they havent been able to build a decent camera, in, well forever. even the HD video recording on the X is pitiful.

in those threads i talked about, i even showed a link going into details about the iphone's camera. apple really took their time with this one. its has a superior image sensor which translates into much better pics overall. motorola was trying to cut costs and corners as usual.

remember that it is a phone and not a camera if you want good pics you should get a camera and those pics look a whole lot better than the droid

5mp is 5mp. What were you expecting to be different on the X from the D1? Serious question? Same camera right?

I mean - A Big Mac is a Big Mac (whether it's packaged in paper or a box).

I don't know if they're using the same camera but the Droid X is 8mp. And for a 5mp iPhone4 to take better pictures than an 8mp camera I think it has something to do with the quality of the sensor.

megapixels means nothing when it comes to image quality. at 3mp, that's still enough to provide a high resolution image that will fill a standard computer screen. motorola using an 8mp camera was pure marketing, since theyre camera is garbage to begin with

How do the HTC cameras compare to Motorola's?

People may not like the answer to that but as I mentioned in another thread, I just bought my Droid X (at full price) specifically interested in how the camera compares to my Incredible.

So far - and I have .516 - the Incredible has less "shutter" lag and takes sharper pictures both indoors and out at all resolutions.

I will give it a few more days but photos are important to me (as they are to most parents of little kids) and I always carry my phone while the camera is often forgotten home.

I agree I had the nexus one before which is just like the incredible and the pics came out really nice and the lag was no where near the Droid Xs

Well my camera is not working, nothing comes up at all just a black screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Video nor stills.

Try this for indoor shoots

In daytime go to camera. Set exposure to 0 iso to 800.
I set it to 8mpg with no flash.
Also play with your settings. Combination iso and exposure.
The higher the exposure the more light comes in same with the iso the higher the iso the more light. I like this...,

look at what i just typed below yours. The settings. Indoors daytime turn off flash set exposure to 0 try iso at 800 I had camera set to 8mega pixel

I heard theres a new update coming out thats like .604 and that might fixed the camera. Have any of u gotten it? Is there anyway to get it faster because some people already have it.

I just returned the ip4 and got the droid x, picture wise the ip4 takes better pics . The difference can be seen once you have it on the computer but for a phone imo it takes good pics, am happy. Don't miss the ip4 as much as i thought .
