[DROID2] Liberty ROM - v 2.0

Hey Guys, Im having an issue with my Droid 2 Global....I rooted it using the Z4 root and I made a master backup with Bootstrap and clockwork recovery...

I had downloaded Liberty, and located it on my sd card, it was like /mmt/sdcard/download
or something, and I booted the rom from recovery mode after doing a hard reset and now when I boot my D2G it shows Liberty and the spinning eagle but thats all it does...its bricked...can anyone help me?

First time rooting...not a great experience..I thought I followed the instructions to the letter but I must've missed a prerequisite..

by holding down the power button and the up arrow on my keyboard I got it to the bootloader but Im stuck here...Im reading the SBF how to right now..after plugging into my laptop it was unable to locate drivers for my D2G

I have a bigger problem now..I got it to the bootloader and I got RSD lite installed and all that but now its showing me low battery and that I cannot program so how do I charge it without the right ROM?

The rom is made for the D2. In order to use on the D2G, I've read about a rom porter that you need to use first. I don't own either device, so I'm completely unfamiliar with the particulars - but one of the many helpful people in this forum can probably chime in with more specific assistance.
 
First question, did you flash the v7 romer after you flashed Liberty. Second question, was your battery at least 60% charged when you started?

I couldnt flash the V7 romer, It got stuck at the Liberty Screen...It wouldnt do anything...

and I had a pretty strong charge.

I got Liberty flashed to it and then it wouldnt let me do anything and I suppose it wouldnt even charge while at the liberty screen and so I tried I do the SBF reset...and then that for one reason or another crashed half way through, so I spent the past 2 hours driving around my area to find someone with a BP6X Battery and couldnt for the life of me find one to try and finish the SBF reset....so now I have a half flashed code corrupted D2G and no battery to try and SBF reset...


so, perhaps advise me for the future how I were to get the Romer on there after flashing to Liberty....thats what I get for trying to do it at work on my lunch break...

ironic part is, I work for VZW... lol

oh how I wish they made a bootloader that would support charging...that would help so many things hah....FML lol

First of all look in the thread Liberty 2.0 works with v7 Romer. It's in the Get R Done area I do believe. Then if you don't mind tell me exactly what steps you took when you flashed Liberty and lets see if we can figure this out.
 
My first priority right now is ti SBF it back to a useable phone, its "code corrupt" right now so I gotta fix that..

but basically, recovery bootstrap, clean/wipe, install from zip, went to my sd found liberty zip file...installed from zip...

then it rebooted and I had nothing but liberty and the spinning eagle..

how long did you wait at the "spinning eagle" the first time?

I thought mine was broke the first time I did it... then I read it could take several minutes at that part. (before I knew that, I impatiently pulled the battery and then when it loaded into the system some stuff was broke) I reflashed and then WAITED for several minutes and it finally worked with no issues

(although, I realize none of this info will really benefit you now as it appears you are stuck mid-SBF? dunno what info I can give in that regard... sorry)
 
Thanks guys, I appreciate it...well, I managed to get a battery charged in my co workers droid and I sbf'd it back to stock in my lunch break then bootstrap recovered my original backup I made...I just had to z4 root it again to get superuser rights to get to recovery mode.

As for at the liberty eagle....probably a good few minutes before I did a battery pull,

Can I get a step by step on the correct procedure on how to flash to liberty..

I have romer v7 on my phone and liberty 2.0 but I don't have the toolbox.. so can someone tell me what all I need and how to do it...and ill be sure to make my first step. Fully charge the ever loving piss out of my battery..

Really I only want to rom my phone to increase battery life and performance...really just want to be able to over and mostly underclock my cpu, I saw that you can underclock the d2g. To 1.0ghz and without the moto blur bloatware it actually runs better than stock and uses less battery..


Id like to say I've learned pretty quick for starting on.....yesterday at work on lunch, im reading alot of the get r done threads, I did see the liberty works with v7 romer but my internet is intermittent at best at my apartment so im doing it all from my phone, and speaking of....does Verizon monitor or charge you for mbb connect or mobile hotspot if you use wireless tether? Does it just hack your data plan (29.99 unl. Data) instead of a $20 connect plan?
 
You can download the Toolbox from the market. If I may suggest it download the donate version just to help these guys out for all the hard work they do developing this rom and updating it.

Question? Do you have Bootstrap Recovery on your phone yet? If not you will need that to. The one for the D2 will work for the D2G. That is the one I am using on my phone with no issues.
 
Home , Themes , and unmounting!

Yes Hello , and belated 4:20 2 every 1. This patient has some q's for the masses out here.
First off I am running Lib 2.0.1 ,all good ..but was wondering as i was scanning themes , if I was able to dwnld themes and apps not on the lib. list. ex: I found Paul Frank Theme i want, instructions state i must have .one of the following.....Live Home ,Crazy Home, Panda Home,, ahome,,, open home, full or dx top. so basically im trying to find out if i dwnld one of those if it and liberty will play well together? Now what i really want was that epic blue theme, but had same prob as others ,w. installing. oreo ..fine that no...read on and saw unmount in recovery? can someone explain this to this tard please. Thx in advance

Epicblue can be downloaded in my theme thread, it is not on the toolbox because there are different downloads for different phones, as well as a slew of addons available. And manually mounting /system is not necessary.

yes hello and thx 4 response.I was going to do it on ur directions pgbut the http was so long, and i already have that pg. bookmarked.
