Dropped 4G Data EVERYDAY!!!!!!!!!!

I could be wrong, but my data drops seem to have gotten better...not perfect, but maybe better. I didn't change anything from late last week when it was bad as ever, but its hard to tell if it is for sure better, because I don't use my phone as much on the weekend. Anyone else's seem any better?

Well hopefully when ics comes out there will be no data drops cuz its a clean slate since its a new os an hopefully they do it right this time.

Yeah so i am having the same issues. I called customer service Friday, get transferred to tech support. She told me to goto a corporate store and get a new sim card. So today i goto Verizon to pick up my card and they tell me that a new sim wont help. "Which i already knew" Just trying to leave notes in Verizon's computer. Anyway they were getting ready to give me a new Bionic, the rep called headquarters and they tell him no. Since $*#t runs downhill I was told that for now I have to "deal with it". They told me its a problem with a tower or towers where I live and also told me they added my phone number to some list. I'm so frustrated. My friend has a maxx. I installed the ICS leak for him on 3 of his phones. Which were all maxx's. I had them the whole day Friday not even once did any of them drop 4g on GB or ICS. Oh and the store rep told me its a problem with all Verizon 4g devices which I found really hard to believe. What should I do? Call Verizon everyday? I just want a working 4g phone. Im not trying to scam anybody. I love the Bionic when it works. I think i will just keep calling and write letters until they remedy the problem.

I'm on 902 and in LA and 4g worked perfect until about 2 weeks ago and it has been horrible. Dropping in and out like crazy. Drove up to Sacramento and the same thing.i read another post that Verizon has a nationwide issue. It may not be your 905 at all.
This sounds Ike a Verizon problem, not bionic.

I've spent the entire weekend reinstalling Windows 7 on my main laptop and troubleshooting this phone. No wonder Apple has so many people drinking the Apple Koolaide...

Updates to my original post-
1 - Recovery to 902 - applied OTA to 905- Rooted - 4g/3g what's the difference? Both suck. (Friday/Saturday)
2 - Restored to 902 - did NOT apply OTA - Rooted - Same as above (Saturday)
3 - Applied OTA, Rooted using Motofail - Same as above (Saturday)
4 - Uninstalled SafeStrap - restored to .902 using '902 Pathsaver' - rooted using Forever Root option in Pathsaver - suckage as above. (Saturday midnight/Sunday am).
5 - Restored to .902 per above - have not applied OTA nor have I rooted - had data problems just after completed restore until approx 3pm at my home and at the gym but - I was able to listen to a full hour of podcasts w/o interruption. Data is and has been pretty solid at home. (since approx 5pm).

So - what totally vexes me: I've called VZW 3 times: first (Thurs?) to enquire as to the 'health of 4G - "Are there any issues in Southern California with 4G" then, (Sat.) to inform that I'm having problems. The 3rd call after initial troubleshooting did not help; I requested elevated support but, hey it's the weekend. Anyone worth their skin is with his/her family, surfing, drinking, beating the dog- whatever so, my comments went entirely through the void that was the head of the support rep to whom I spoke. I could have gotten more information talking to my dead father. (happy father's day dad)

IF in fact it was a transient problem with 3/4g, towers, authentication etc. I've wasted 8-10 hours tweaking this phone and the problem may not have involved the phone at all. Had tech support been aware that there are issues affecting everyone, I could have saved that time (those hours are gone - never to be replaced) Why can't they be honest about problems? Cover-ups just ruin credibility - ask Nixon(oops, he's dead) or Clinton.

Sad to say, I'm becoming an LDL - A Latter-Day-Luddite. I have a couple of functioning V3 Razrs (flip phones), 3 or 4 working Thinkpads of various vintages (Linux/XP and Win7). My quality of life would be better without a SmartPhone.

We're being screwed AND we're paying considerable money for that screwing. At least they could send a kiss and a cigaret.

Ehhhhhhhhh, I don't know, seems to be dropping a lot again. Like I said before, it seemed much improved over the weekend, but I don't use my phone as much. Now that i'm back to being a power user, its dropped at least 6 times today, and it always seems to be very inconvenient when it drops!

Well mine drops data now maybe every 5 seconds at most. 4G icon never disappears but turns white and I lose data completely. It comes back to blue and I can load a webpage and then it drops again, and I have to wait for it to reconnect... driving me crazy especially since it's been so great until about two weeks ago. Plus it was fine in Houston over father's day weekend but now back in Austin I can't even Google anything and my google music has been rendered entirely useless. SIM card trick and cache wipe proved fruitless.

Having the same issues all day today

I'm calling them today, cause the drops have been horrific these past two week just all over. See if they can check it out or something.

It's not all a VZW issue. My wife & I have been in New York City this week and I would drop data on my Bionic while she had data on her iPhone. I am losing patience with Moto.

Agree, my nexus is rock solid and my wife's razor maxx can't hold a data connection.

I agree it isn't all VZ, but the Iphone on VZ is a bad comparison. It is not 4g. The issue is 4G phones on VZ. Some are better and some are worse, but they all have problems with this. But again, there is no doubt in my mind that the MOTO phones are the worst of the lot. They drop 4G too easily and when they drop they often have more trouble getting on 3g quickly and consistently.

Just got off the phone with vzw. They had me do something with enabling data roaming. See if that doesn't cut these down a tad.
