^^^but its definitely not the phone itself or even the .905 release. This problem started occurring on .902 about a month ago. It has to be something on the network side.
I'm tempted to call vzw again today. What they had me do did not fix it. I'm guessing if I call back they'll just want to send me a replacement Bionic. Which, I really don't want to go through, cause I'm sure it's not going to fix anything.
Maybe they'll actually send someone to take a look at the towers though.
1. Power down
2. Remove the back cover, battery, SD card and SIM card.
3. Power back up, let the phone come all the way back up and tell you that you can only do "emergency calls only"
4. Power down
5. Reinstall SIM card, SD card, battery and back cover.
6. Power back on and let the phone boot normally.
I have been having Data Drops for about 2-3 weeks, prior to the update. Update didn't solve problem.
I tried resetting SIM card, and the Airplane Mode trick, neither of those worked.
I called Verizon and the rep "Refreshed the VLR" and so far after about 3 hours, no data drops.
I hope this solves the problem.

Those are all good guesses. I'm thinking it's something like "Very Lame Reception." But whatever it is, I hope it can actually fix this damn data problem. I'd really just like to know so that I know what I'm asking for when calling them. If it does fix things however, they can call it whatever they want! Just Fix It Verizon!!!...so we'll then call that the JFI. Who cares...GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED Verizon!

I think the best thing to try would be to call verizon and try the VLR fix and see if it works for you. Like you said, who cares what it stands for (as long as verizon knows what it is), if it works that's all you need.
I tried the "Airplane Mode" trick yesterday evening, and I seemed to hold data all last night with no problems. This morning while browsing my G+ stream, it dropped. So, I did the Airplane Mode trick again, and so far today it has been solid. If I have to do this every morning until verizon/moto figures it out, I suppose it's better than nothing.
On a side note, I was lucky enough to have my earpiece speaker blow out on me, which I really could have done without! Good thing I've still got warranty left!
And...I too would like to know more about this VLR business
If this is in fact true, then we will be constantly going through this EVERY TIME A NEW SET OF LTE MARKETS ARE ROLLED OUT, WHICH IS STILL RIDICULOUS!!! and I have been having this problem for weeks!
Been having problems for weeks here. So frustrated. Right now I'm on wifi but my data is totally gone. Nothing. I dont think I want to go into the store to have them try some retarded trick like a simple reboot and have my 4g pop back up. And then they act like its fixed. I swear they have signal boosters in their stores
