DVD Catalyst

Will it convert the .flac to something else? MP3 maybe? .flac will not play in the droid.

The Droid profiles use H264/AVC for video and AAC as the audio format. Everything converted using the profile will have those formats. :)

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've got a brand new system, plenty of RAM, great processing power, etc. I'm even getting stuttering and sync issues with the standard Droid profile.

It's got to be something wrong with the phone at this point. I need to go scour some other threads in this forum to see if I need to uninstall something.

Frustrating. :(

Try the Droid sample files on my website, the 1-pass ones, and see if they play.
Just use the Anhdroid link on the right side to find it.

Also consider turning off BT, wireless, sat, and sync while you watch a movie. I sometimes do this (via that widget) and it can help

question on subtitles...how do i make them readable? i can see it but its light and blends in with the movies. I check the subtitles option but dont see when i can make them a solid text. Im using dvd cat btw

In Global Settings > dvd, enable "standard dvd access" unfortunately the only way.

Installing the boosterpack can also help.

Tried a sample using the trial version. Video came out fine but the .flac audio seems like it was missing the center channel. Kind of like it took the 6 channel .flac file and only converted some of the channels. I am missing most of the dialog. I used the droid HQ profile.

Any ideas why?

Unfortunately not.
I'lol have to get a hold of a sample file using multi-channel flac audio to be able to see what is going on. I'll see if I can find out something later today.

I can send you a files if it helps.

That would be great. That way I actually have one that you have issues with.

If you have a link, or a file that is less than 10MB, please send it to me by email.
Before you send it, please make sure it actually has issues, and if possible point out a few things in the file I should look for. I would need to original file with the flac audio.

Let me see what I can do. It will be hard to send the original file as they are normally 15-30 gb (full res blu-ray rips). I should be able to extract just the audio file from the .mkv which is normally 1-2 gb. Maybe I can figure out a way to clip out a 30 second clip from the main file. I'll do some testing tonight and see what I can get for you to play with.

First off, bought DVD Catalyst last night after trying the demo. Great product. Converted Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen and it looks great on the Droid. It took my six year old Dell 3.5 hours to convert it.

But I have one question. And I'm sorry if its been covered. Can movie chapters be converted individually? Like select the movie and it the chapters into individual files.

Thanks...

Thank you :)

You can split movies in individual scenes. Basically click on the track that you want to split, and if there are scenes set for the track, a couple of split options will be available at the bottom. Just enable the "split in parts of X scenes" checkmark and start a conversion.

How do I not include the subtitles in my movie??

I have a video file that has subtitles embedded...and every time I encode it for my phone they show up.

I've unchecked everything I thought was correct!

Can this be done?

if the video fiule is an avi file that has the subs actually encoded into the movie, the only way to remove them (since they actually became part of the movie) is to cut the area off of where they are located.

If you are converting an MKV file that has the subs enabled by default, enable the No Subtitles option in Global Settings > Language
