[ROM] Eclipse ICS for droid 4

Is anyone having trouble with slowdowns and some laggyness? It seems to go away when I clear cache. Chrome, and Swype seem to suffer the most and start lagging before anyone else. I'm using the 1370oc (is 1370 right, I haven't flashed in a while) with normal voltage.

I do. And I too am overclocked. Not sure what causes it. But I know a reboot fixes it. Seems to happen about every 24 hours. But that's only a minor inconvenience

Exchange issues

Hello all! I love this ROM, however I am having a dealbreaking issue that I hope I can find a resolution for...

My companies exchange server requires security permissions. When I try to add my exchange account to the phone, it asks me to grant the security permissions, as it normally does. However when I select to apply the security permissions, this window closes, and then the same window pops up again asking for the same permissions. This is a viscous cycle to which there is no end. No matter what, I can not use the exchange feature of this rom. :frown:

Does anyone know a workaround?

Thank you very much!!!

Google 'Exchange Security Bypass apk' and you should find xda links on how to download the Email and Exchange apks and install them (just make sure you get the right version). It's a little tricky, but once done, works great. Also allows you to set you own security instead of just the PIN.

Oh man, if this works, I am going to be one happy man. Thank you so much!!! I will try this tonight and let you know!!

No problem, just an fyi. I had a force close message of exchange.apk after I did this, but once I froze, I think, huxemailengine in TiBu it all worked fine. Let me know otherwise and I can switch to my eclipse slot and check it for you.

Excellent info. Thank you very much. I too am having this force close message, you wouldn't happen to know for sure, the name of the app you disabled? I dsabled huxemailengine, but it still does not work.

Thanks again for the info!

I checked mine. From what I can see I have frozen:
-Exchange Service 0.2.17
-HuxEmailEngine 1.0

So the only ones I have enabled are:
-Email 4.1
-Exchange Services 4.1

Not sure which guide you used, but you might also want to check you set permissions correctly, etc. And just for your info, I used root browser light to delete the old apks, paste in the new ones and set permissions, if that helps any as well. If it still doesn't work, I can try to reflash Eclipse and see how I did it from there. (You will need to do this any time you re-flash the ROM.)

Good luck!

Also, here is the link I used. The files are attached in a zip on the OP, just download and unzip and copy them over: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619486

You mentioned that you were running a different ROM on your droid 4. Which ROM is this? I have been having a hard time finding D4 roms that actually work well. I would love an AOKP rom, but none worthwhile seem to exist yet....

Droid 4 development has been somewhat sporadic. I came in off the Droid1, and was spoiled from the ton of roms out there from the first true Android smartphone. I have just stuck with this ROM, as myfishbear keeps it minimal and functioning.

To everyone, are there any other ROMS out there that are as stable as this one? Also, is it worth going to a different recovery from 2.11?

Additionally, those having problems with their Exchange logins, any idea what the settings are server side? I've never had an issue with my work exchange account, so I'm curious.

Thanks.

I use Liquid JB as my daily driver. Works great, the only things that don't work are the bluetooth (common JB CM10.1 problem) and camera flash (which I don't use that often). Other than that it runs super smooth and fast (with using myfishbears OC and speedscripts) battery life isn't too bad either.

As of now Droid 4 is now officially supported by the Liquid team and hopefully soon the CyanogenMod team, so hopefully some fixes will be coming thanks to the help of dhacker, hashcode and many others.

Give it a try, though it needs to be installed on ROM slot 1, so you will have to move your eclipse ROM to another slot.
