First off, THIS IS TOO MUCH FUN. Thanks to P3Droid and MDW for all the work. I installed the first Froyo leak and liked it, added P3's 100 kernel and loved it. Oh yeah, I'm a real noob too. You guys make this almost too easy. Now, here is my question, I like speed and am using a Moto Droid. What would be the best kernel to try? P3 has so many and I don't understand the differences. OK, I'll wait 5 minutes for my answer and there will probably be 10 more updates by then, lol. Love you guys
I know this may seem like the answer is obvious but...
Wiping the Data and Cache. What exactly is the data and cache that will be wiped, what won't be?
Short answer: You'll have to set the phone back up. Think of it as rolling the clock back to when you pulled it from the box. The difference? You'll have FroYo instead of Eclair.
so when i woke up this morning i had no data service (calls and texts worked fine though). i tried out this build earlier today and everything went fine except the theme i tried to apply caused a boot loop so i just went back to my nandroid backup. but now i the market, browser, and apps that require data dont work.... anyone know whats going on?
I used Titanium to make a backup of my apps then wiped data/cache and cache 3 times then installed this. I've had no problems with the market or anything so far. I flashed one of chevy's low volt 1ghz kernels and it doesn't seem as snappy as I thought it would. I've ran 2 benchmarks with Quadrant and have gotten around 1267. I'm getting about 15.500 MFLOPS with Linpack.
My biggest question is what happened to the 3d launcher? I really liked the 3d effect. Why would they remove it?

Probably a silly question, but I don't know anything about 'low voltage' kernels. I just know 'download this kernal, use SetCPU, and it just works.' Is a LV kernel a specific kind that will not drain the battery/heat up the phone? Or is it just one of the kernels that were made available?
This runs about the same as Motorola's 2.1 Eclair even overclocked at 800MHz... laggy homescreen, laggy touchscreen, laggy everything. Whatever Motorola's putting in their distribution is not worth being on my phone. I reverted to Pete's Bugless Beast Froyo v0.3... even the original Froyo leak (non-Motorola) ran smooth and fast.
I did. For some reason its ultra slow on bootup for like 2-3minutes. Once I'm past 2-3 minutes its smooth as hell but yeah...had this happen 2 or 3 times and now but it seems stable now. I'm glad the backup process is so thorough in case I do have issues again.
