Even More Froyo

P3, MDW, Miami, Droidlife and forgive me if I have missed anyone else, thank you for all the work you put into this. I know you all have lives and better things to do than take care of all of us with less technical abilities. As in every other aspect of life, thank you never gets said enough, just please know that you are appreciated.

Interesting, this doesn't have WiFi tethering. The only issues I'm experiencing are when I reboot the phone it takes longer to boot than Android 2.1 did and the boot animation seems to be running slower. After it boots I see the lock screen but it takes a few seconds before I can slide to unlock and then after I get to the home screen some of the icons take a few seconds to appear and the Power Control widget shows up as a blank, gray box for several seconds before it becomes active. This build just seems sluggish at startup. Could this be a bad install or just a glitch with this build?

OMG,.....but wait, let me be fair here. After all you might be seeing something that I'm not.

I haven't noticed any difference in how fast it takes for it to boot up. If it's taking a second or two longer, that doesn't bother me nor do I even notice.

However if in your case it's taking lets say over 60 seconds to boot then perhaps you have an issue.

After having the Blackberry Storm which took about 5 minuets to boot up, and I don't think I'm exaggerating the Droid could slow up a few seconds but I'd never notice it.

I have seen almost the same thing.
It is noticeably slow booting up and the boot animation is also slow.
I also noticed the lag in the lock screen after I boot.
If I hit the launcher right after I boot it's really lags.
I don't get it the launch doesn't even have any effects anymore. :(
After it's finished booting up it seems OK.
I had none of this with the last leak and I was running at 550MHz Max.
I'm going to go back to the ULV kernel from Chevy.
Hopefully that fixes the lag.

I also noticed that the Market is missing apps so I made a new market fix.
It has all the same settings from this leak but tells the market it's 2.1 instead.

Wifi tethering works on mine. You just need to go into Astro and install the .apk file.

There's several programs that need to start when the phone is power cycled. Within a minute of the phone resetting I am ready to use it. Like Hook said, thinking back to the BB Storm days, once you power cycled your phone, you could count on a 5 minute span where you could not use the phone whatsoever.

You guys are such marvelous Brainiacs. Question though on this fix. Could we uninstall it when 2.2 becomes official? Because by then the market should be able to recognize Droid 2.2

I definitely know what you mean about things missing from the Market. I can't find Home Run Battle 3D in there. And there is a poker app I'd like to get back.

I could just make an update.zip to install the original back.
Actually there would probably be a new update.zip

If you get a chance it might be nice to have an update.zip file just in case. I'd be happy to put it in my downloads so if necessary I could get the market for any 2.2 updates.

OK no problem.
After you install the market fix you can search for weather bug elite and it'll show up.

If you install the Remove_Market_fix_FRF84b-update.zip and search for weather bug elite it'll show only WeatherBug Locator.
