[Exclusive] Verizon Ends Automated Discounts on Line Fees Once Payments/Contracts End

Ahhh... I see the confusion. Someone must not have explained the Edge program to you very well when you signed up. It's primarily only useful for folks who upgrade every year. Edge is actually more expensive if you plan to keep one device for a long time. Someone please feel free to correct me if I am wrong...

@cereal killer wanna chime in on this one?

You are somewhat correct, but device payments are not more expensive if you are keeping your phone longer than 2 years. There isn't as much of a price advantage on The Verizon Plan like there was on the More Everything plan, but a savings is still a savings. The biggest appeal of payments was that they fall off after the 24th payment and you'd keep the lower line access (very appealing when you were paying $15 on More Everything). Now, in the 25th month, the line will go to $40 until you get another new device. If you go to The Verizon Plan, the line is $20, and will remain that way.
