Extremely disappointed in our community

Not that this will change how things are going as it will soon run its course. But I am personally very disappointed in our community and many of its members! I feel I need to express my thoughts...

All of this drama that has came to droidforums.net is pure childishness at its best! The way some have been behaving reminds me of a bunch of 8th grade girls bickering over nothing.

Fact is every ROM developer has a talent that most of us do not have. They all do a great job! All of them! But because of this fan-boy-ism that goes on. Flame wars start, threads get closed, topics are not able to be commented on. And for what!?? Because some fanboy of one ROM want to have a pissing contest over some other ROM! Its ridculas, period! All it has accomplished is making my time and many others on this forum a non enjoyable experience. I don't know what the other 49,999+ members are here for. But I am here to learn and interact with others that has a common interest as me.

This is my suggestion to all of you! If you have a issue with a developer take it up with them by a private message. Keep it off the forums. If you want to be a cheerleader for a developer.. cheer away in that dev's thread. If you do not like a particular developers work, don't post in there thread! Its simple common sense. If you have a issue with a developer and think he is using something that is unauthorized or other people's work! Take it to staff privately. Let them look into it and make their decisions on how to handel it. Some of you people take this crap way to serious! Its a phone people! Instead of feeling entitled to these ROM's and hacks, BE GRATEFUL!!! And with that... in the words of Forest Gump. That's all I have to say about that!

Agreed. We should all take pride that we have such a wonderful open-source platform for ROMs to flourish on. Instead, all ROM users should be focusing their disdain toward closed, proprietary devices like the iPhone.

The fanboyism here has been out of control for a while. There was a thread I tried to post in about the benefits of stock/rooted 2.1 over-clocked being faster and more stable than some roms and I had a guy with "beta user" in his title and noted as a supporting member of this site basically go into a rage and try to troll me in two different threads.

I just don't see the point in being a fanboy of this or that rom and using that as a basis to fight with people. Personally I think the droid community is good over-all, especially the many developers we have (roms, games, and applications) it's just a small selection of fanboys who are the issue.

From the day I bought my Droid and found this forum, I have had nothing but a positive experience with its members. Everyone has been like family, for the most part. Many times when I posted a question, someone would PM me and take the assistance part off line to free up the thread and work just with me. That says loads about this community.

The devs on here do what they do for the sheer love of the technology and the challenge to build a "more better mouse trap." Some members donate, some don't. But the devs chug along, either way. Appreciation and respect to them and understanding to the new members, please. Without the devs, we have a stock phone. We were also newbies at one time. I hope that everyone , including myself will show them the same welcome and assistance I was shown when I was a rook.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. to the devs and to the newbies. No, I'm no Aretha.
