Finally some good pictures

Well what I don't get is, there are thinner phones with some incredible cameras. I hate to bring up the GSII, but it's camera is awesome and it's the thinnest smart phone I've ever seen.

Maybe the designers at moto like the hump. I like the hump. I think everything about the way the phone looks is awesome. Just hope it performs as well as it looks.

The thicker half is probably housing a lot of important thing leaving more room for a bigger battery. The finished size of the phone relies on how big a battery they put in it. We just don't have thinner more powerful batteries out because it's probably not an easy task.
Have you heard China is working on a charging screen that when you swipe across it, it charges the phone? That would be awesome but probably a little far off.
Well if they are working on something like that for better battery life then making large batteries smaller has got to be close to impossible.

GSII doesn't have a LTE radio either. I am guessing the bulk of that hump is to accommodate both radios and the cameras. That's putting alot of stuff in a small area. 2 radios, and 2 cameras....the GSII probably has a single GSM radio in it and that frees up some space to keep it nice and thin.

end of line...

Personally, Samsung phones not known to be durable. MOTO phones are like a rock. For size, if you want a bigger screen the phone will naturally be bigger. For me, bigger battery, dual processors, and 4g lte. What else do you need. No phone will ever be perfect and fit what you want.

I agree, the droid 1 has been a beast. I just looked at another friends D1 and it's all scratched up and stuff, but not a single scratch on the screen or any dents or physical problems. He seems to be pretty hard on it.

What? Do you guys all wear jeggings?

Hilarious. But I don't want that mental image....men in jeggings...ick!

I honestly don't mind if it's a bit bigger, I mean it's way more phone I expect it to be bigger. I personally don't like the hump and I'm not sure what they have in there, but hopefully I won't mind it too much. I haven't studied the internal pics to see what is behind it, not sure if I could tell from the pictures anyways.

Neither radios are in the hump of the Bionic.

Well, if that's true then the hump is a design feature to avoid lawsuits from Apple.

And we know the LTE radio adds bulk so in the end, what you get is a big phone, that can have a big battery too. No use complaining about it. Thinner isn't always better.

The LTE radio is actually in the chin, the thinnest part of the device. I just feel like they didn't use the space well. If a redesigned camera could have flattened the device and made it thinner overall, I think it would have been well worth the effort.

This is what people are gonna have to realize. Everyone keeps saying I want this and I want that and I want it to last more than 4 hours. Well, here is what the phone's thickness is gonna be. You can't have your cake and eat it to so to speak. The Bionic is getting great reviews with battery life and with dual core,1gig ram, lte, a very large battery, and all the other stuff they are shoving in this phone the thickness is not bad at all.
I know everyone is liking the GSII and its paper thin frame but that isn't even close to what it will look like with lte and a good battery to keep everyone somewhat happy.
Battery life is a biggy for me and a lot of you and this might mean that an extended battery is not needed.
I love the look coming from a D1 and can't wait to see what this bad boy can do.

Where are there reviews for the Bionic?

Just search etna bionic reviews and youre golden.... *sheepish grin*

Etna is the scrapped version of the bionic. Who says that anything from that design was carried over.

Or did I not realize the sarcasm.

I think he was joking. The Etna was a different phone and people keep trying to compare them.

I only realized that is was a joke because of the user that posted the comment. I've seen this individual in the bionic forums many times and I new better.

But I see to many people that don't know the difference and it just erks me.
