FoxKat's Razr/Maxx Jelly Bean Leak Classroom W/MattyP & Friends

I tried and tried last night... I got up this morning and started PC up went to folder I had root in and runned it and it ran perfect. After I downloaded it I should've restarted that PC

To those having problems obtaining root, I had to uninstall updates on Smart Actions in order to get root. Once I did that it was fine.

Rockstar...how did u like JB without root? Thinking of not rooting until I make sure all is well. Your input is appreciated.

Helron....JB runs pretty smooth. I rooted mine and installed Jelly Haters ROM, it's sweet and runs a lot faster and has Beats audio. If you need a walk-thru to do it send me a private message. And tha battery life on tha ROM is great, but JB itself is pretty good

I was wondering if perhaps purposely leaked JB on Xmas. Why? Because it saves them a lot of trouble answering support questions. Instead, they could monitor sites for free:biggrin:

UGH! OTA has not been officially pushed, yet still promised. Lost of Razr folks are already dreaming about new phones! Ge! Moto has rally nothing to lose by leaving the leak, out there and not releasing official OTA.

Also, if JB leak installed, can official MOTO OTA be installed? Foxkat indicates that once JB is on phone u can't go back to ICSPerhaps, there isn't a way for MOTO to determine the Xmas leak recipients? HMM? Ifmit was a controlled PUSH, they know who got it. Wow! So many questions:blink:

There are questions but, can anyone recall any official OS leaked or otherwise that some method to go to the newest official OTA wasn't available?

I would probably agree with this if it wasn't for the leak not being finished, missing some functions.

It will still come out, mainly because its a fairly small number of users who even think to come to a site like this to get a leaked update, that and the one they did push was not fully working.

There would be no way for moto to know who got what, except if you rooted, and again it wasn't a controlled push because the update wasn't finished. And because of this I have to agree with Foxkat that they will have to honor future OTAs even if you side load it.

I have no doubt they will support the JB release. There has been some discussion on the Motorola users forum with replies from their forum manager.
I'm also sure they could know who actually got the OTA as opposed to those who side loaded but, I don't think they care.
It's my understanding they have to provide a different update for those who are currently running JB due to the way updates check your current system.
I'm not worried.

Can anyone confirm that the new Google Now widget is working with the leaked version of JB on the Razr/Razr Maxx? The new widget works fine on my tablet. I was holding off waiting for the official OTA but the Google Now widget is what I've been waiting for....

Yes it's working. I haven't really played with Google Now too much but it seems pretty cool. The only card I have up is weather and it is working.

The default size is 4x4 so I had to drop it on an empty page and resize it to put it where I wanted it.

Just tried it with an event on my calendar and it shows up too. Not all cards do though. Not sure what the criteria is for them to show on the widget.
