Win this awesome black dock by MIKRADLE by simply posting in this thread about the last "dumb" cell phone you had!

Tell us what kind of a phone it was and why it pales in comparison to your Droid :motdroidvert:

This thread will be closed in 5 days from now and the winner will be randomly selected by the super random generator over at random.org! The winner will receive this beautiful black dock shortly after being selected (phone, cable and desk not included).

i had an LG Dare... it's a dumbphone that is trying its hardest to look smart... web browsing was a joke!! even with 3g (had a 1month free trial), it was incredibly slow rendering pages, even mobile pages! totally unusable BREW crap...

VZ navigation was okay, but $10/month? PLEASE...!

had a microSD slot which was cool, but it could only play music, the heck?

there was no customization (re: IPhone)... no Android App Store...

3.2mpixel camera i think... it was okay... but doesn't compare to the Droid's 5.0MP

oh lastly, RESISTIVE Touch screen!! typing was so innacurate, even after having the device for 6 months

I had an LG flip phone... and it was awful. I had the phone for several years and by the time I was ready to trade it in for my first Blackberry (a Curve 8330) the battery was so worn-out and awful, it would eat a full charge in 2 hours of being in stand-by mode. The phone at one time would go 5-10 days without needing a charge. I didn't start texting until a few months before I traded in the phone, so most of my days with it I wasn't texting, and barely used the phone to call - it was mostly a clock for me.

Pick me!

Having the Dare for 2 years before getting this phone, it has nowhere NEAR the power of this phone. The app store alone makes it worth every penny, and the customization powers of the phone make it just that much better. I used my phone every second I could, I do with this one too, but this one just makes it SO much easier to complete the tasks that would take AGES with my old one.

LG 8300 flip phone. Could access gmail, but it was a MAJOR p.i.t.a. The music player was ok, but very limited in function. Threaded text messaging makes me wonder how I ever texted "the old fashion" way. :)

I've owned other phones and had access to blackberries and iphones, but the Droid is by far my favorite.

I was recently going to have to replace my Magellan GPS because the maps wouldn't even display city/town names on the map. Well Google takes care of that and I just bought the Moto Car dock. :)

i went from the dare to the omnia what a abortion that thing was good thing i only had it for a week till i got the droid the day it came out

last dumb phone i had was lg voyager, the phone itself was decent but no customization, couldnt multitask (play music and do anything else). web browser was horrible, slow and laggy. vcast store was horrible. camera was crap. glad i got the droid (last phone was omnia and it was pitiful too in comparison)

My last was a Samsung Alias. It was like cheeze whiz. Convenient but nothing great.

The Droid is like warm, soft mozzarella on an extra large deep dish combination pizza...mouth watering yet?

had a Sony Ericsson W580i. It was a quite of eye candy but it had crappy software that would occasionally lag. I can't even compare it do Droid's snappy and versatile Android OS.

I had an LG Dare. It was an OK phone when it 1st came out, but it was basically a wannabe smartphone. The touchscreen was unresponsive, there was no customization and it had terrible signal strength. Over the course of a year I went through 5 of these, all of them ended up having problems with the screen, or physical problems. It was ok while it lasted, but on Christmas eve the screen stuck down while typing a text message. It would repeatedly tap the same place over and over unlocking my screen and pulling up my contacts and then calling the same person over and over. Needless to say the only thing I could do was turn it off and wait till VZW opened. I went in and my 1 year warranty had expired 3 days ago. Needless to say I used my 1 year upgrade and went to the eris. I had never missed a physical keyboard but after having the eris for a month the lag and lack of options the droid had drew me in to look at the droid again. I paid the restocking fee, switched to the droid and never looked back. I couldn't be happier at this point.

I had an LG voyager. the touch screen sucked, i went through 4 of them in my 4 years..
1) touch screen froze
2) charging port broke
3) charging port broke
4) charging port broke

they acknowledged that it was a problem and replaced it for free. but still..that phone did nothing right

Had a razr. It sucked, my droid Rocks!

I'm on the other side of this boat. I had a Razr, same one for about three years. I loved it. In fact, I was so happy with it I almost didn't get the droid. I thought, why do I need the internet, and GPS. I sure am glad I made the jump. Within a few days of having my new super computer in my pocket, I don't know how I ever lived without it.
