I had the Samsung Omnia as my last phone. Let me tell you it was one of the worst phones I ever had (I liked my dumbphones better than that POS). It would randomly reboot itself, had windows mobile 6 which had to use a stylus. Oh and it actually came with a stylus! Coming to the droid was such a nice change of pace, new knew a phone could be this smooth!

I had a blackberry 8530. At first this phone was smart, but then it was dumbed way down when big V decided they were going to allow Bing to be the exclusive search provider on their stock internet app. Which I found very annoying as everything was blocked.

My last 'dumb-phone' was a Motorola e815. It worked nice at the time, however, the small screen, lack of capabilities, the phone absolutely SUCKED. The other stupid thing was that Verizon blocked the ability to transfer files from the phone to MicroSD card on the phone and vice versa. I had to hack the phone just to get custom ringtones on the phone, without paying 1.99 for a freakin' ringtone!

Needless to say, the DROID destroys my old phone, along with every other phone that is out there on the market today.

I had a Razer prior to this phone. The only thing I used it for was for making phone calls, alarm clock and a calculator in a pinch. Its only advantage over the Droid was that it was smaller.

The Droid does just about everything I could imagine or want, I do not think that I could ever go back to a dumb phone.

Before I was on Cellular South and I dropped calls all the time, now with the big V, I have maybe dropped one call.. maybe... although I think it was my friends sprint phone that did the dropping.

LG VX3300 - Photo 1 of 4 - Mobiledia Ok here is the deal 2 years ago I got a samsung that I really liked I had it for a whole two days when my wife put it thru the wash of course no insurence so I ended up using a LG VX 3300 phone flip phone it was the worst phone verizon ever offerd and I had to be stuck with it for the past two years oh man it sucked I work with a bunch of guys that had nice phones I took so much crap for having that phone oh man it was the worst I'm a 27yo man in the construction industry no man should have to sustain 2 years with such crap anyways glad to have my droid with body glove there is a link above with a pic of the crap phone I've had for the past two years thank goodness for my droid

My last "dumb phone was a Motorola flip phone.

It would look awful in the beautiful MIKRADLE Dock. My Droid would love a MIKRADLE Dock.

Your MIKRADLE Dock rocks!

Bob

The voyager...2 screens, but it still sucked, only good thing was the qwerty for typing. Never used the touch screen.

Depends on what you mean by dumb phone, dumb phone because of the phone's lack of features or dumb because it still makes me wonder what the F I was thinking when I bought it?

Dumb phone due to lake if featuresit would be the Lg vx8100. mine was even pre-vcast if I remembercorrectlyso customization was non-existant without using either bluetooth pairedto my desktop or througha data cable and bitpim. if you forgot to flip the thing open before talking a picture the image came out reversed. pretty easy to see how the Droid blows that thing away.

Dumb as in it was a dumb purchase that I still lay awake art times wondering what I was thinking when I bought it, well that one would be a Palm Treo 700wx. windows mobile on way to small of a screen and no wi-fi connection. I haven'tused that phone in over a yearand I am still kicking myself for even buying it

I had a lg 9400 (like the one from Iron man). It was thicker that the droid. lol
It did not have a real physical keyboard or an on screen keyboard...so the texting was much harder than the droid.
Also, I could not check emails and take great pictures like the droid!!

I love my droid!

I had the LG env2. Great for txting, not great for much else. The formfactor was good, but I have big hands so it was a little small. Plus I was trying to clean out some dust in the ear speaker and used a little to much psi and whala....buzzy phone calls. It was my fault and was upgrading soon after so I dealt with it. Droid is by far superior in everyway, except keyboard layout, but I got used to it. :)

i know i'm not eligible to win, i just wanted to play along.. ;)

my last "dumb phone" was a blackberry pearl.

1st car phone in 88-90 audiovox ($2.29 a min to talk

The the Motorola Flip phones that were grey..I think they were called 8500's..

Then StarTac, Razr, Slvr, A few samsungs... LG voyager, and now happily back to Motorola Droid :)

I had the Voyager. Web browsing was way too slow, the screen had so many scratches I couldn't even see the screen clearly, VCast was horrible, and then the touch screen (which I hardly ever used) became totally unresponsive...now I am a proud Droid owner:)
