Froyo Here For The Droid X

P3Droid
Every listen up, MDW is subject to a DDOS attack at this time to coincide with the release of FROYO..This is BS but I will get this to you

my update was successful and the phone is rebooting now.

Can you detail us the process you went through and what state your phone was in?

Were you rooted before? did you use the fabolous stock update to revert back to stock? Any info on how to get this to work would be much appreciated.

I replaced all the bloatware that i had previously taken off.
My phone was rooted
With root explorer I moved su from system/bin to system/xbin
copies the update.zip to my sdcard
booted the phone up in recovery.
selected update via sdcard/update.zip (something like that)
phone went thrue the update and then I selected reboot and everything went smooth.

Make sure your phone is rooted and completly stock.

Thanks Seano. At least I am not the only one. You think with all the time they had to prepare for their announcement, they could at least give us a working patch and/or good instructions.

Or they couldnt waste all the time to do it at all.

Seriously, be grateful for other people's efforts.

can anyone confirm that using ASTRO File Manager to copy su from bin to xbin and deleting su from bin afterwards is a working method? I don't have root explorer but I can reach bin and su from Astro. This is the only thing holding me back

Ok so Its still unclear as to whether I should or should not be rooted before doing this, and do we know if Koush's recovery will work or no?

well if you goto the bin folder there is a logwrapper file which i think is from koush's recovery causing it not to install.

I was rooted with I did the update and everything went smooth. So i would try it rooted. Just make sure you have removed su out of /bin and put it into /xbin. Move not copy

Flash player works :)
