Status
Not open for further replies.
well i have been asked for Froyo for non root uses. I have even asked for i myself. I know I am a bit late but we wil have a release and instructions for non root users to be able to move to froyo now. I am sorry for the delay.

Thanks

Miami

Edit: The non-root will have it's own thread and Not be part of this one.

Let me guess...you will need rsdlite.

You are going to need rsd to get back to stock.

Yup, Only way.

Can anyone help?

I'm trying to switch from p3's 600mhz kernel to his 1ghz kernel. I tried just installing the 1ghz kernel over the 600mhz one but that didn't work... how do I change kernels?

Download the zip file from the OP of this thread
rename it to update.zip
place on sdcard
boot into sprecovery
allow update.zip
install update.zip
reboot phone

That method doesn't work for me, considering I already have a kernel installed, how can i remove the 600mhz kernel from my phone?

How exactly is it not working?
Make sure when you rename the file to update.zip your actually not making it update.zip.zip If your running Windows 7, when you rename it just name it to update, Windows will do the rest. I think that it's the same on Vista but I can't remember.
Then place on the root of your SD card.
Boot into SPRecovery
ALLOW update.zip
INSTALL update.zip
reboot

to clarify..you have to choose allow update.zip install

then install update.zip(depracated)

I'm curious - why are so many people messing around with the SPREcovery method if it causes you to lose root? Clockwork worked absolutely fine for me.

Not everyone uses clockwork.

And it's more of losing access to root than root itself.

you still keep sprecovery so it is easy to root again using another file. Either way works. I am using sprecovery and I did not have any problems.
