Can anyone help?

I'm trying to switch from p3's 600mhz kernel to his 1ghz kernel. I tried just installing the 1ghz kernel over the 600mhz one but that didn't work... how do I change kernels?

no root

I installed 2.2 and was able to install flash apk. I was trying to upgrade kernels to take advantage of wifi but I don't seen to have root anymore?? I used a spr recovery to flash 2.2.
Can anyone help??

It's in the OP, near the bottom

Ok I have the update .zip file. I tried to install in spr recovery and I get an error code # 25. I' fairly new at this and I suppose I'm doing something wrong. Can some help please. If I try flashing through rom manager I can't use it because of not being rooted.???

Download the zip file from the OP of this thread
rename it to update.zip
place on sdcard
boot into sprecovery
allow update.zip
install update.zip
reboot phone

Got lost in this thread earlier so I dont know if this has been praised yet on this Froyo release.

And that is I love the option to add a pin or password to the lock screen.

well i have been asked for Froyo for non root uses. I have even asked for i myself. I know I am a bit late but we wil have a release and instructions for non root users to be able to move to froyo now. I am sorry for the delay.

Thanks

Miami

Edit: The non-root will have it's own thread and Not be part of this one.

That method doesn't work for me, considering I already have a kernel installed, how can i remove the 600mhz kernel from my phone?

It's ok Miami. We all appreciate all the hard work everybody has been doing for Froyo.

AFAIK you can only overwrite a kernel and not delete one.

THis thing is just too fast, too smooth. Its running flash smoothly. I finally can pull up the real nfl.com website. I have tether if I want, but I really do not need it any more. You know all this goodness to play with. I think I want to settle for over priced slow no flash iphone. Just saying, so what flash has been proven to run smooth on a mobile platform. Steve Jobs is right it is not needed on my device. I do not need to customize steve jobs already customized it for me. I do not need flash steve jobs have it all set up for me. I just turn it on and get a steve jobs customized rom and themed device. That is the life of an apple fan boy ;)

Im being sarcastic.

You dont delete the kernel you overwrite it with a new one.
DL the kernel of your choice, rename it to update.zip and flash it via SPR
