Froyo Release Thread

I downloaded the update.zip, wiped everything, and installed it in Recovery but when the Droid finishes rebooting, everything looks exactly the same as on the last ROM I was on (CM 5.0.7.1).

When I go to About Phone it says Firmware is on 2.2 but everything is exactly the same.

WTF is going on?

Did you only load the 2.2 kernel?

Or did you actually install 2.2?

i not sure if any1 has mentioned it, but i dont wanna read 85 pgaes to find an answer. does any1 know why thers no apps2sd in this :(?
No there's not, and I'm also going to add this to my list for next time I post reminders in this thread for those who don't want to read 80 pages of messages to get answers.

It says it's the kernel. How do I actually get the 2.2 itself?

Thank you for this! Froyo is VERY fast.. I get a 17 Linpack @ 1.1ghz. The browser is also noticably faster.

I don't know if this was said before, but Flash on the Droid sucks. I think Steve Jobs was right. The performance is poor and the navigation is confusing, if not impossible to overcome.

So how do I get the actual 2.2 on my Droid. I think I've only got the kernel.

Hi - I'm having a problem with the App Manager in Astro since installing Froyo..

When I run the app mgr and choose 'backed up apps' so I can re-install all my apps, I click the check mark across from 'Install' to do them all at once but when I hit 'Install' a msg pops up near the bottom that says 'Nothing Selected'. I can see all the apps listed there. All boxes for all the apps have a green check mark in them, and even trying just one app by itself does this same thing.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I noticed that instead of everything being at \sdcard, the directory structure has changed. It is now \mnt\sdcard. I tried pointing Astro's home and backup directories to just \sdcard, but then the apps don't show up at all.

Is anyone else having trouble installing apps from their SD card since upgrading to Froyo?
Same issue here. I get the 'nothing selected' also.
